I wouldn’t be surprised if LaMelo sits
Free tickets tonight, DM me if interested guys
So glad Lamelo and Brandon are both out. I feel like Lamelo isn’t hurt, therefore he should play. I’m pretty sick and tired of players sitting out all the time for all teams.
I honestly feel this season is going to go like previous seasons for us.
Again, so glad we didn’t draft ace Bailey.
Charlotte FC, the Panthers, the Heels, and the Hornets all winning this weekend? (Minnesota doesn’t count). What is this weird feeling, of not shaking my head in disgust or kicking the floor, or taking a baseball bat to the tv?
Was a fun game, did not expect a blowout. We’re obviously a better team with Melo and Brandon, but it’s good to have a “figure it out yourselves” kind of game, especially being so reliant on young guys. This allows them to figure out what they can do, trial by fire. Now, we also did this in the past with Kai, Bouk, Thor, and the worse McDaniels, but now its with guys that have played basketball their whole life and understand it.
Kon obviously still adjusting to being smaller and less athletic than most people on the floor. I think what he’s going to figure out soon, to be the most effective killer is to adopt the old man at the YMCA game. Slowing down your 2 steps on the gather to a crawl to throw off the defenders timing. Exaggerated euro steps. Using your big back and hip swivels and slight jersey grabs, and subtle elbow pins to knock sneak around guys and get em off balance. Pivoting too much. Bank shots galore.
I saw it a couple times this game, and it worked. Going full speed gets you blocked by Svi, being clunky and uncanny gets you open shots at the rim with guys clutching their shins. Embrace awkward angles and jumping off the wrong foot, you’ll drive defenses crazy. Also, he looked good defending Keyontae and Clayton a couple times. Teams keep trying to iso him, but always end up taking bad shots.
Really surprised by Sion. And I hate that it’s basically a dook backcourt that I’m cheering on, but they both only had one year of dookie stench on them, so I guess it’ll wear off quicker. I didn’t see the Dort comparisons this summer or preseason, but if he’s gonna body people driving to the lane (on offense and defense) and hitting 80% of his 3s, well Dort it is!
Sexton definitely played more like a traditional point this game, great to see he’s highly capable of being a facilitator as much as a scorer. Mann looks better, but his vision seems to be more towards scoring than passing at this point, missed a few open swing passes. Moose doing Moose things, Kalk did his thing on D even though he was overmatched in strength by Big Nurk. Once Kalk gets his NBA strength, the paint might be locked down for opposing teams.
One other awesome developing trend, we’re a really really good free throw shooting team. 22/22. Even Moose is hitting everything after that 0-5 start in the Philly game I think.
Oh yeah, Ace may become pretty good, but I don’t see young T-Mac or KD there. It’s early, he’s been sick and injured. But we’d definitely be a worse team if we’d taken him in the draft this season. For whatever scoring chops he develops, I don’t know if you can develop basketball awareness or that aggressive drive temperament at this stage of your career.
Didn’t get to see much of the game. The box score looks good. Shooting better than last couple of games. Was that just because how bad Utah is? Or, was the ball moving and getting some movement on offense?
