Well Lamelo out again. I still think this is “load management”.
if he can play, he should play. It’s getting old. Just trade him I guess.
Ankle again.
Need to move on
The situation is definitely a load. Managed a similar one just a bit ago.
Hopefully you washed your hands afterwards
Thought about washing my hands of all of this years ago. Why start now?
Since the game vs Utah. I’ve been thinking about trading for Markkanen. They probably wouldn’t. But I could warm up to trading LaMelo for LM. I like LaMelo, but this is getting old. Maybe it’s just the way the NBA is now.
When is the end of Melo and Millers contracts? I bet they’ll somehow manage to play when it gets close to getting payed. And that’s not specifically against them just seems to be the state of NBA as it is.
Players are jjust handled like babies in today’s game. If they are sore… they should play. It even makes it impossible to play fantasy basketball. lol
something needs to change as it is ruining the NBA.
A thing I like about Miles.. He plays.
it would be different if these didn’t sit out all year last year already. It’s just so annoying bc I strongly believe he can play. If this is how it is… and he will never play through any pain… just quiit.
@Eastley the Moose On the Loose shirt will be available exclusively at the Hornets Fan Shop
I absolutely love that shirt.
Games like this…at the end of the year, when it’s only a game or 2 margin to make the playoffs or play-in, these are the games that matter the most. Throwing away victories is what keeps teams in the lottery.
The game was lost on 2 dumb plays in particular. Maybe a 3rd, but that one wouldn’t have mattered. I think first one was a Miles rebound, we have numbers but didn’t need to be in a rush, he throws it to Collin who runs right into the defender and they lose the ball, they get an easy basket.
An even dumber play, Jordan Poole takes one of his typical dumb shots, we get the rebound, and Miles decides to try a full court bounce pass through traffic???
???
???
The slowest person on the court is able to steal it, and throws it to Poole who’s was just getting up from his dumb shot, and gets a wide open layup. What’s the point of that pass, just dribble it up the court, you’re playing 5 on 4 now and can get an easy look. Those 2 plays cost us 4 points at minimum, but could’ve been an 8 point swing based on our advantage.
The last one was on Collin. The only thing that can beat you is a 3. Step back 3s should never be a game winner for defenders in that situation - they are no longer challenging shots, even for average shooters like Alvarado. You play defense like they are going to step back and just stick on them. If they drive past you, so be it, but they’re not getting a 3 off, and you get the ball back and at least are guaranteed overtime.
Anyway, if the team thought this was the type of game they could throw away, is this signaling their intention for the season? The next 5 games are at Miami, the Lakers, Milwaukee twice, then OKC. 3-10 is not the start of a successful season, they can’t afford to let winnable games pass by.
I thought the 13.x seconds left, Miles driving up the court and hurryingup a terrible 3 as if there were 6-8s less on the clock was pretty inexcusable. But I stand by my sense that he doesn’t want to be 4th fiddle on this roster and that’s why we’re seeing some hero ball with Ball and Miller out.
Oh yeah, granted there were a ton of mistakes that game. I love what Collin brings to the team, but this game, he was a space cadet too many times, dribbling into no mans land with Alvarado on his tail. Or Tre continuously using his off arm to push off on fadeaways. But those 2 fast break passes were the worst because, what the hell are you doing, and also they led directly to their points. These are rookie mistakes, not 7 year vet leader mistakes.
Oh, and not being able to inbound the ball. Classic Hornets.
I hate when we even call timeouts at the end of games….. bc I know they will struggle to get the ball in. Pretty clear we can’t draw up a play….. for the past 6+ years it seems.
what are the chances Lamelo gets plays. Only 1 game this week and he’ll get a few days off, so he plays right? Or are we just so good… we can just beat teams without him?
We’re 1 and 1 without him, might as well see if we can go 2 and 1, right?
Oh yeah. For sure. That sounds fun. Haha
