Cool by me
I don’t know guys. I’ve crunched the analytics and the game tape for days on end. And I think Giannis would fit in really well on our roster. Let alone, look good in a charlotte hornets uniform.
I’m obviously kidding, but you do wonder why the hornets loaded up on point guards. Mann, Sexton, Dinwiddie. I’ll agree with @FoundingHornet , I think there’s something brewing. Not now, but I do think the front office wants to keep the door open by the trade deadline for something.
Sure, we need Melo insurance for if (and when) he goes down. I get it. But you have to agree it’s been interesting.
I hope that things are continuing to move forward w your recovery from the flooding
As for the hopeful takes on the new season, optimism is good but realism is better. We have two gigantic holes on the starting roster. I can see going into the season with one - but two? All indications right now are that we are projected to be a top 5 lottery team - again. I think those projections are realistic considering the current circumstances.
Now that we see that the plan after trading Mark was/is Mason Plumlee I wonder if coach/management/ownership are regretting possibly taking him for granted. As for everyone going back to a two big league, I expect Miles’ advanced statistics to regress again. And Grant is as best a back up undersized 4. Don’t even get me started on him playing the 5 with Moussa.
All of that said, for the first time in years there are quality NBA starters across the board from 1 to 3. Its even more pleasant to consider that the team has quality legitimate NBA backups for 1 - 5. We just have two significant holes to fill. Hell even Chris Boucher was taken out of the free agent bin yesterday.
Okay, I will go back to waiting just like everybody else.
Training camp starts Monday August 11th. The clock is ticking.

Boost! And thanks!
David Aldridge has us 6th in his “NBA 2025 offseason rankings” - that’s a very nice topper to the offseason.
The skinny: The Hornets are making sure they don’t have to solely depend any more on Ball — who’s played in just 105 of 246 games the last three seasons — by adding Sexton and Dinwiddie to the mix. Good strategy. And when Ball is on the floor, he should be able to play with either of them, or Knueppel. Any of them will be an upgrade in the backcourt, where Green averaged just 7.4 points per game in 67 starts at the two last season. If Ball and Miller return without setbacks, Charlotte’s rotation is poised to make a big jump offensively from its anemic production last year (29th in offensive rating). Diversifying the attack is critical for second-year coach Charles Lee.
I know some on this forum completed my annual Hornets fan survey (Listed above), so sharing part 1 of the results which published today
