2025 Draft Discussion (1st round - Low Lottery Pick)

This! 1000%

He thinks he’s unquestionably a top 3 pick and from what I’ve seen I agree with him. I don’t like the posturing but let’s say this was Cooper Flagg doing this, would it stop anyone from drafting him. No! You’re not gonna pass on a generational talent. Of course it’s not a sure bet with Ace but I’m telling you, he has the talent level to reasonably expect multi-time all star level player. I’m not passing on that opportunity if it falls in my lap if the alternative is a likely role player. I’ll understand VJ but other than that I’m going with Ace and we’ll figure it out.

Also This 1000%.

And for what it’s worth Ace has already talked positively about the potential of playing with Melo and Miller.

Dylan Harper is a possibility too. I mean if I was pretty much assured of being the 2nd pick I’d probably just say whatever to anyone below me. Not smart, but I would. Lol

LOH talking about trading with the Pels 4th for 7th plus Herb. Man, I’d do that so fast, I might get dizzy.

Squeeze them for every damn penny and give them all the trash!

Holy smokes! This could actually happen!

It would be excellent if Utah was all into Ace because we could be guaranteed to get Tre. With the 6th pick we would end up w Kon.

Kon is workable/valuable/mature but he’s certainly not bringing sexy back like Justin. (A song reference.)

I would rather have Ace or Tre than Kon.

Things could get wild.

Ace wants to go to the Nets… 76ers Nets trade coming!

New Orleans needs a center. They want to trade up. I know folks have talked about herb jones (who I love and is insanely underrated). I wish there was a way to get Trey Murphy, but I know they just signed him to a 4year/112m deal. Sigh. That’ll never happen.

Send the mark williams and pick 4 for herb jones, 7, and another future 1st round pick.

And then use that future 1st and our two 2nds (33, 34) to trade back into the 1st round and select someone else. I’m 100% sold on nique Clifford.

Or perform the above mentioned trade to get back into the first and draft Thomas Sorber. I really like him as a center prospect. He’s underrated and should be drafted much higher.

Melo/Mann/KJ
Nique/Mann
Miller/Herb
Herb/Okogie/Moussa
Nurkic/Sorber/Moussa

You get an infusion of defense from Herb and Nique. Both are tall, 6’6 and 6’8. And can shoot threes and defend. I want Bridges gone so I excluded him, but what’s new?

Would love to offload miles in a trade to infuse young talent to develop. I wasn’t happy with the Miles re-signing because I wanted to go ahead and work on developing young players. Miles isn’t part of the future so I just don’t understand it.

Would be great to trade him to get back into the 1st round this year.

Wouldn’t dropping to 8 put you out of the kon/tre/vj/fears tier?

Seems like you want to stay inside 7, no?

Unless they want the Duke center or Illinois euro point guard

Probably. I’m not keen on pick 8, but pick 7 would be the more ideal spot. Especially if that means we acquire Herb Jones in the process. As well as more draft picks.

Random thought: I don’t see a huge difference between carter Bryant and Drake powell. Bryant is an inch taller and has 15 pounds on Drake powell. I like both players. Would love to see us develop a stretch 4.

If we could get Herbie out of the Pels, then Demin or Jacu would just be gravy imo

I’m all about herb jones. I’ve always been a big fan of his game. Would love to also flip miles bridges for assets and slide Herb jokes into the starting lineup in place of bridges.

In the Pelicans trade scenario it would be great to snag Kon Knueppel at pick 7.

Melo
Knueppel
Miller
Herb
Williams

Would you trade #4, Mark Williams, and NSJ to NOP for Herb, #7, and, #23?

I am fairly opposed to trading mark for 5% of what the Lakers agreed to. I would rather keep him vs have him be in a trade where the hornets give up a much better draft pick.

I don’t see him as completely damaged goods. I get that his relationship with the hornets is probably pretty damaged but if I am trading him I am not giving him away.

In your trade I see it as

#4 and nsj for #7 and herb

Mark for #23

I need more for Mark

It’s the relationship that’s so effed, not Mark

Eh, x% of Mark is added to NSJ to get the Herb. NSJ and #4 probably doesn’t get it done for #7 and Herb.

Based on your response, I suppose I am both over valuing mark and under valuing herb
