Every win must be met with an opposite move to negate said win.
Geez!!!
But why am I even surprised?
When you owe the Lakers a giant fuck you, but also need to stay on the Cooper train.
I’m sure KJ Simpson will be back in action though. Let’s go Hornets
Didn’t get to watch the game but saw Baugh had 14 and 6 assists on 6-7 shooting and 2-3 3 pointers yet was -22 +/-… was he bad defensively?

I didn’t clock that but the game had some very weird surges for us. We were able to make up large tracts of points in very short succession so if you were on the wrong side of that (bench), I could see a player having a highly outsized plus-minus.
As a bad team, this happens often with the hornets. They can get down by 20 then make it up with different lineups on the floor. Then play close, ultimately losing by 10+. Huge swings in games can easily do this.
I didn’t watch the second half as closely as the first but I didn’t think Baugh looked bad defensively last night or in his first game. I thought he gave effort on that end and seemed to be in good position. Offensively he continued to look comfortable and under control. Didn’t force anything but was able to make shots from inside and out. Displayed a nice shooting touch and a solid handle.
I know these aren’t high stakes games, and we’ve had other guys in past years come in late in the season and flash some impressive stat lines in meaningless games, but from the limited sample size, Baugh seems like he might be a legit player.
Miles bridges somehow had 85 fantasy points on fantasy basketball last night and this is why i hate fantasy basketball
Hey man, just remember-it’s only fantasy basketball and not real basketball. Good for fantasy basketball miles bridges!
Years ago I won my fantasy football league with jameis Winston as my QB. For the entire year my league mates trolled me for jameis Winston. I had to remind everyone that it’s “fantasy” football. So I say play your miles bridges proudly in fantasy basketball. Much like jameis Winston, miles may be more suited for the fantasy side of basketball than the real one.
Miles had a great game in fantasy and in real life last night. 36 and 13, 3 assists away from a triple double, and was very efficient getting those numbers. Over 50% from the field, exactly 50% from 3 and perfect from the line. After he shook off the rough start to the year Miles has been quite good for us, and especially of late. There hasn’t been a whole lot to criticize about his game the past couple of months. I know there are some who will never want to give him credit for anything because of his past issues, but he’s playing extremely well right now.
To preface, I didn’t watch this one. Tired. Was also watching the new Severance episode.
Baugh seems interesting. Garbage portion of the season, but passes the eye test from what I’ve seen. And I mean the, “this guy looks like he could be in the league and contribute some minutes off the bench” eye test. Nothing more. But it’s hard to put much stock into this portion of the season.
I saw that in 19 minutes of action, Nurkic had 9pts/10reb/7ast. Is yet to play more than 20 minutes in a game, but I’d guess that’s due to a minutes restriction. Since he hasn’t played basketball in quite a while when he was planted firmly on the suns bench.
He is awful. I am not saying that because as a person he doesn’t seem to be all that wholesome. I am saying that as someone who has watched him have a terribly low BBIQ for 5 years. The majority of the time he is on the floor he takes rather than adds to success. He is a modern day version of corey maggette.
I’m sorry, but that just feels like a hyperbolic response. Even if you have a negative critique of certain aspects of his game, he is not awful by any standard. There have been times where I have questioned his BBIQ in terms of shot selection. That’s fair. But an objective observer would also have to acknowledge that he has been much more deliberate about attacking the basket of late and not being as quick to settle for 3s. That’s made him a much more efficient player. He’s making a positive impact across the board. I’m not sure how anyone could look at his play this season in particular, and feel his contribution has not been additive.
I guess we just disagree. I couldn’t trade him fast enough. I loathe the basketball he plays. Always have.
I am with you Deac. I am the first to want to trade him for non-on-floor reasons and for the longest time, I have truly thought he was a basketball imbecile. But something has really changed in the last half dozen games. It might have happened a bit early and my loathing of his has kept me from seeing it but it’s been obvious of very recently. Last two games, he had many opportunities to go low IQ and in the great number of instances, he made the right basketball decision.
That’s not to say he won’t still have 1 bonehead play per game, but he’s nearly inverted the decision making of smart moves per game in very recent history. Still would trade him in June if there’s a play there.
Maybe I will have to watch more closely. Last time I watched for any amount of time he took about 6 bad shots on 8 possessions. I think I commented on it in the game chat.
