Yeah it’s a bit concerning, but I would rather him be 100% before playing. I just wish we had a true PG on the bench. Might have cut KJ too soon.

They’re blitzing us. We have to run someone up top around the FT line and three to zip the ball to. Because the middle of the floor behind the defenders is wide open

It’s a little like the aggressive blitz defense that Houston runs (college Houston)

I love brandon miller and been a fan since he put on a hornets jersey. But theres no way you give him a max extension. And i know this is the nba now but just not yet… i would need to see WAYYYY more before this would be a HUGE gamble

Brandon miller is not worth that money. I don’t care how much anyone likes or believes in Brandon miller, but that’s absurd. And yes, chef is correct. It’s the biggest problem the NBA is facing.

in fact, the whole second apron/hard cap is only a symptom of the problem. I actually really like the new CBA. The second apron penalty and repeater tax is a good thing. For those that oppose: Do you want the NBA to be like MLB with teams like the dodgers and Yankees? (The NBA version: Celtics, Lakers, Warriors, etc.) Fuck that.

The base issue is: if your team drafts a player and has to pony up money to re sign that player to their big deal-it shouldn’t be a salary cap punishment. Why get punished for drafting well?

The fix: if a team re signs a player they drafted, they should get *at least* a 25% salary cap savings. Basically a tax credit, so that only 75% of that player’s salary is counted towards the team’s salary cap. For fucks sake, reward teams for drafting well.

This is a relatively simple fix and Zach Lowe has talked about it numerous times with merit.

Or if you don’t want to get into that type of incentivized over paying, each team can designate one contract of a player they drafted to 0% of the cap. So the hornets could designate the entirety of Brandon millers salary to 0% of the cap. But then have to pay melo and Kon.
