Game 6: BOS at CHA

Once we get a few ejections out of the way, should be fun

Any way we get different ref crew for this game? I’ve got $5 on it if you guys want to pitch in for the cause

I think Miller is warming up.

Eastley

He warmed up on Tatum's head on that dunk

This is worrisome. We look so out of sync

Good to see 24 out there. About the only positive so far

It’s going to hurt not having Nick. Any timeline yet?

And why no Gibson

Ok another positive…Mr Mann

Eastley

Some of these fouls don't seem to be real.

spectre

Now its getting good!

Eastley

Indeed

We need either Mann or Miller to get going

I think we need to take Mark to Shohei Ohtani's doctors, so they can fix him. Otherwise, we need a center yesterday

GoBobcats24

That seemed to be a BS call on Lamelo

meloFan

That did not just "seem", it was a BS call

But that's what a All-NBA Champion gets when he airballs, so…

Mich_Mercer

I wonder why we didn’t challenge it?

Lamelo has got to stay out of foul trouble.

Maybe we shouldn’t switch him onto the ballhandler every single defensive possession but who am I?

He makes some incredibly stupid fouls. That’s all on him to change.

My first game tonight in the arena. Thoughts:

  • The customer service I think was the best it’s been since the Bobcats era.

  • When we moved to the upper level, they sold a patio area that fans could hangout at before the game and when they wanted to get some air. The patio area was LOCKED. Lol

  • I know our new announcer has to settle in, but the vibe was just off - just like with explanation of what was going on in the game at times.

  • There’s a new guy with the in-game entertainment hosts and it’s just a weird fit - hopefully he will get better with time.

As for the game itself, it’s hard to feel too bad when we don’t have a starting center. The run to open the 3rd quarter - 17-2 - had the Hornets fans on fire. If we could just win a little bit this city is ready to support a winner.

  • Boston sucks. Their fans suck. I hate Tatum and Pritchard especially. I was rude to several of them tonight leaving the arena and didn’t care. Front-running SOB’s. None were fans when they were getting railroaded in the mid to late 90s.

Celtics fans are like Patriots fans glory a…holes, when they’re winning everyone’s a fan but where were they in the 90’s and Pats fans in the 80’s.

Anyway rant over back to the Hornets, ok we’ve lost the last 2 on a back to back against the reigning champs. Positives we didn’t get blown out and we showed a lot of heart and never say die. Lee has got them bought in to his plan and i love it, we pushed the champs on consecutive nights the 2nd night without a true centre.
Negatives I’m not sure where Miles fits into this team he either throws up a 3pt point brick (ie.first game 2-10) or a ball stopper I’m not sure how Lee gets the best out of him.
But all things said when everyone is fit and we have to be patient with it we have an exciting team thats most definitely a playoff roster.

I agree that there’s a lot to like from what we saw during this mini-series. Boston is clearly the best team in the NBA and we completed, despite being shorthanded and without the benefit of the superstar calls they got both nights. I really thought we defended well in the 2nd half last night and that level of defensive effort will win us some games if we can bring it consistently.

At one point last night I thought we got a little 3 happy. That’s the aspect of the modern game I don’t care for. I realize both of our Cs were hurt but that’s where you’d love to have post player who could get some high percentage shots in the paint, it would be great to have some balance and diversity in the way we can score when the 3s aren’t falling, not just last night but in general. But I know that way of thinking is a thing of the past so I digress.

I’m probably higher on Miles the player than most on here, but I agree he needs to play better. He has demonstrated his ability to score from inside and out so he’s capable, but for whatever reason he does seem a bit lost right now. I have seen stretches of really good D from him so that’s a positive, but he definitely needs to pick it up offensively.

It was nice to see Green finally break out last night. He’s a solid piece but not sure where he fits long term.

And yeah, I hate Boston, but they are crazy good. Outside of Tatum and Brown, the number of weapons they have are crazy. Holiday and White killed us, and Prichard/Hauser/Kornet play their roles exceptionally well. And they don’t even have Porzingis yet. He takes them to a different level. They are one of the best teams in a long time and they’re going to be tough for anyone to stop.

I agree Boston are so deep, i can’t believe they can be that deep under the cap, with there top star’s in Tatum, Brown, Alford, Porzingis, White, Holiday even Pritchard and Hauser could easily start for teams. Can we have Kornet please he impressed me this weekend.

But if we play this off season right we can be a solid playoff team for a few years, a solid PF and reliable C and i think we’re there.
