Just thought I would see what y’all thought in regards to that taking place? I think the Hornets are primed to have a similar turnaround. You can already see a shift in team culture this Summer League season.
I think it’s certainly possible, but I’ve been of the opinion that we would’ve been in the mix for the playoffs each of the past two years if our roster had been intact. I do agree that the infrastructure and culture around the roster seems to be much better now though. But as usual, it’ll come down to how successfully we can avoid and manage injuries. And then there’s also the fact that we have some incentive not to win too much due to the draft pick, but I’m not sure how much that will matter if things are going really well.
I agree with almost all you said. We had a talented enough roster the last few seasons but there was a bad pattern to our losses even in the games we were all or mostly healthy. I just didn’t feel right about the team under coach Clifford. I know we can’t lay all the blame on coach Clifford, I think he is a solid head coach but some coach and player combinations aren’t the right fit. I never felt right about the teams direction beyond being in play in or bottom seed playoff team purgatory. On top of that, I don’t think the next can’t miss prospect is worth tanking for. We shall see soon enough. Perhaps making the playoffs this season isn’t good in regards to how well we do in the following seasons but I think we are going to compete and exceed expectations, starting with next season!
The more you see going on from Ownership, Front Office & Head Coaching, the more you realize how out of touch, and ineffectual the Hornets were.
If we’re reasonably healthy, and all our key guys play over 60 games (each, not combined thanks) then I think we’re a lock for the play-in and on the verge of conveying our pick to the Spurs.
i see us making the playoffs outright if all goes well on the injury front. We shall see.
If we hope to see a Texans turnaround, a HEALTHY Melo is going to have to be our CJ Stroud, and Brandon Miller bring the equivalent of all of Houston’s great young WRs.
If healthy there will be far more key contributors than those two players.
