Lakers are NOT killing it. Maybe just convincing LaBron to ask for a trade.

Fwiw I put a $2 bet on LeBron playing for the Spurs at +6000. Sochan, barnes and keldon + 1st and 2nds for LeBron is my fake trade

Holy shit man. The lakers are so fucking stupid. They could’ve had mark williams for less than half the salary. But they said no and pivoted to paying Deandre Ayton 34 millions dollars.

For other reasons, the lakers have royally fucked up this offseason. If they weren’t gifted Luka, they would be in way more trouble. I want to see LeBron leave and have the lakers just suck. For YEARS.

By the midway point in the season, LeBron is going to kill Ayton. Ayton is known to throw tantrums, his immaturity, and low effort at times. LeBron is going to crush him.

Off topic: but speaking of crazy bets. The Carolina panthers are +100000 to go 17-0 this season. So a $10 bet would yield a cool $10k. Hey man, just saying. It would be the story of a lifetime

I put a .50 bet in on a Steelers Panthers super bowl with the Steelers winning. If it happens I get $625

But didn’t the Lakers kind of have to make this move with Ayton? They’re desperate to try to capitalize on what’s left of their window with LeBron and it’s not like they could just run it back with what they had. I’m not the biggest Ayton fan and I’m glad we didn’t pay him that much, but he was the starting C on a team that made it to the finals so if you’re the Lakers, you have to hope the influence of LBJ can bring out the best version of him. Wouldn’t put my money on that happening but I get why they did it.

Winner: The Proliferation of Double-Big Lineups

After Oklahoma City just won the NBA championship starting two 7-footers in a league that needs to fortify itself against Jokic and prepare for the scorched-Earth scenarios soon wrought by Wembanyama, more and more clubs are committing to double-big lineups. Some, like the Thunder and Cavaliers, have already enjoyed incredible success with them in their starting lineup. Here are a few new ones, plus some returning combinations that we should see next season (extra points for the teams with three bigs):

Cavaliers: Evan Mobley-Jarrett Allen
Thunder: Chet Holmgren-Isaiah Hartenstein
Grizzlies: Jaren Jackson Jr.-Zach Edey
Timberwolves: Rudy Gobert-Naz Reid
Rockets: Alperen Sengun-Steven Adams-Clint Capela
Mavericks: Anthony Davis-Daniel Gafford-Dereck Lively II
Knicks: Karl-Anthony Towns-Mitchell Robinson
Nuggets: Nikola Jokic-Jonas Valanciunas
Clippers: Ivica Zubac-Brook Lopez
Spurs: Victor Wembanyama-Luke Kornet
Hawks: Onkeyka Okongwu-Kristaps Porzingis
Heat: Bam Adebayo-Kel’el Ware
Suns: Mark Williams-Khaman Maluach

That’s nearly half the league!

Crazy. Playing two dedicated bigs. We should call one a center and the other a power forward

And then there’s us…

If this is the trend then it will be even harder to trade Miles. The FO would have to market Miles as “Your missing piece SF”.

 I’m so glad we’re getting back to a slightly more traditional basketball type of system. I do miss the big PF’s of old. The bruisers with a post game and a mid range shot.
