Yeah, I could definitely see the musical chairs offseason for the good teams. Monty to Milwaukee, Bud to Phoenix, Nurse to Philly…Doc to TNT.
Want a good new coach? It’ll cost you. Charlotte hornets on the cusp of a sale aren’t fliffing around money like this:
Wow. Like holy shit. Good for Monty though, happy for him.
I’m guessing Monty wasn’t really keen on moving to Detroit, but the owner probably was like, give me a number, I’ll match it. And Monty just threw out a ridiculous number he thought for sure wasn’t going to be matched.
$13M per year for 6 years. Damn. Spo’s only getting $8.5M. I’m sure his agent is waking up with a big smile on his face with that news. Kerr only gets $9.5M per. Of course Pop is living the dream at $11.5M, and now gets Wemby.
Cliff surviving on scraps for only $4M.
“associate head coach Kevin Young is staying with the franchise on a new deal worth more than $2 million annually that’ll make him the NBA’s highest-paid assistant coach”
It’s so funny that people think this franchise/front office is going to pony up the money it requires to get shit done. But no, let’s keep throwing away money to bring back players from these last few miserable seasons. PJ AND MILES LETS RUN IT BACK!
I’m trying to figure out what you’re saying here. On one hand you said the front office doesn’t want to spend money on the other you said the throw it away. Do you think they don’t spend on coaches but spend too much on players?
Im saying that the FO doesn’t know how to spend money. And if they continue to tie up money with a losing roster, they won’t have the money to spend towards anything important.
Like good coaching. People can’t have it both ways. You can’t say “re sign PJ and Miles” and expect the front office to dole out a lot of money on bringing in a real coach. And then we’re stuck in a circle again: same losing roster that somehow costs too much and still complaining about needing a coach. It’s all a circle.
