Man don’t bring me there again, he was the one and only player I didn’t want. I understand the hype but this draft leaves a bad taste in my mouth just like Zeller and MKG draft
hope I’m wrong, hope I’m wrong… Borrego seems enthousiastic about his game and have an idea of how to use him, it’s a good start.
The BBB thing sucks and LaVar is a huckster, but nothing about this necessarily screamed terrible to me. It’s about what I’d expect from a family that’s already rich.
I’m willing to give LaMelo the benefit of that doubt that he wants to pursue greatness. And to that end, he has the skillset to get there if he works hard. Hopefully MJ can help him understand how dedicate you have to be if you want to be great.
Who knows. I’m being my usually overly positive self for the moment.
Oh I didn’t read it either I just saw the really dumb headline. I would never pay to read the Observer.
Funny thing was that Tom Sorenson commented on Fowlers post of the link on Twitter with this: “I like the pick. Thought Ball was the second best player (behind Wiseman) in the draft. He’ll be an exceptional passer and playmaker. And his dad won’t be a distraction. LaVar is loud but, like most loud guys, harmless.”
Fowler did not respond to Tom’s tweet
Also I asked Fowler who he would have pick at 3 instead of Ball. No response. He only responded to people that agreed with him lol
Before the draft, I heard Bomani talking about some incident where Lavar was shut down for good. Was that what he was talking about, or was there something else?
Also saw some stupid Charlotte City counsel guy welcome Melo with an insult to his dad on the same tweet. That along with the dumbass Fowler article is why Charlotte is seen as a lesser sports town. Nothing wrong with being a homer and pumping up your own guys for your city.
Yup, just watched it… I’m not gonna lie, that was horrible done by our media/PR dept. They held it outside, but gave the media outlets no mics? So the players could barely hear the questions. And I’ve noticed, and it could just be being young and having the unique experience he has had to this point, but Melo has some awkward exchanges in interviews lol. He also has some endearing ones as well though… him mentioning having Cookout last night and answering the question about MJ versus his Dad in 1 on 1 were two of my favorite moments.
Chance missed to drop in the greatest Hornet 22 - Johnny Newman
And no, I have no idea why that tidbit of information was stored somewhere in the dark recesses of my brain. Its only been about 28 years. I guess it was always meant for this moment.
