IF I DONT SEE AT LEAST 5 PLUMLEE REVERSE SLAMS THIS SEASON IM GONNA LOSE IT.
Let’s set a HP over/under on plumlee reverse dunks (season long). I’ll start: +/-7.5. What a world.

Not horrible. Still room for a trade for a legit low post player either pf or c
I think that’s it chef. I think it’ll be some kind of rotation of the three of them (Moussa, Kalk, Plumlee) until hopefully Kalk can be the guy.
The plumlee signing tells me that the coaches want to play the rookies. That was my read since the draft. There will definitely be minutes for kalbrenner
Or Moussa tbh
Absolutely. I still like Moussa in a high energy role off the bench for 15-20 minutes a game. Sort of like what I wanted for Cody Martin. I don’t “dislike” cody Martin and he can play heavier minutes when necessary to fill in for guys. Same with Moussa. But like Cody, I think less is more. I think there a lot of value in having a backcourt and frontcourt player on your team that you can see them lose for 15-20 minutes.
I like Moussa a lot, I just can’t envision nba starter level. But, that would be cool though.
I like it! We can go after Tre and Josh O now. Plumlee can also be a mentor to Kalkbrenner. This is a great cheap deal.
Yeah, and now they have both somebody to start the season to get Kalk ready and a parachute if it’s just not working out this year.
Meanwhile, is it even legal to sign guys for 3.6 million anymore? That feels like a bag of chips these days.
Not exciting but I don’t mind it. I don’t see this as committed to tanking. Assuming health (which… I mean… ), I think we have the fire power to make some noise in a decimated East. Maybe not real contenders, but definitely a playoff watch.
Yeah i don’t see this as tanking at all either
Yeah you draft players in the second round with the hopes that they can become good rotation pieces. There’s no way a dude we drafted 34th overall is the long term plan at C. Not saying it’s impossible but there is zero chance that’s the actual long term plan the FO has. Ideally he becomes someone that can give us a solid 20 mins a night and step up when guys are hurt. Anything else is icing on the cake.
I just highly highly doubt anyone in the FO actually thinks C is solved long term with Kalk. I’m fine if it’s another rebuilding season and we just say f it let’s throw him to the wolves and see what he can do. But I’ll be really surprised if 3 years from now he’s our starting C. Would love to be wrong of course
I don’t expect us to win a playoff series or anything this year, but sub 25 wins again would be completely unacceptable. We should at least be like a lot of those Kemba teams that while not in the playoffs would win at least 30 games and make you feel like you could have a chance any given night.
In general, I agree about second rounders. However, I think they landed on a guy that clearly had round 1 talent and fills a very specific role with a skillset he more or less possesses today. The big thing for him will be can he adapt his game to the speed of the NBA and not get constantly beat with switches.
So, I wouldn’t go as far as saying they’ve got the C position solved, but I think they see him being a significant contributor at that position sooner than later, particularly with his age and experience relative to most rookies.
Obviously not a flashy signing but I’d rather this than to overpay for a guy, so I don’t hate it, but what’s the deal with all the Duke guys?
Man I missed a lot of talking. Lol. Mason is fine for that price, I don’t mind having decent depth on the roster. He can start the season as a starter until we transition to someone else.
And like some others have said, he should be a great mentor for Kalkbrenner. Good veteran big guy, I’m always cool with that.
This might mean Taj doesn’t come back though.
It does seem like Peterson has always been planning for 2026-2027 to really be the “jump” year. Now I’m sure the owners will have an expectation for the team to be more competitive than they were last season as that was ridiculous. This is probably
a 28-35 win season and honestly that’s fine. I’d rather them be patient and see out their vision as opposed to trying to shortcut a rebuild because that can leaves teams in a really rough spot with a few bad moves.
But dreams of being this years Pistons are out the door lol
Well might be time to invest in a Moussa jersey
All I can is laugh. I expected more from us trading all of our centers. There has to be something a little better than Plumlee right? I mean.. it’s fine I guess.
I like the Plumlee signing. Great value, good vet, viable player and no road block for Ryan and Moussa.
I know this secondary reason might not be a popular take, but the '26 draft is a lot stronger than this year’s at the top. Yes, things change, but Darryn Peterson and A.J. Dynansta are touted to be on a similar level to Cooper Flagg, not to mention Cameron Boozer and Nate Ament are likely ahead of Harper on a combined Big Board. We have to make a push soon, we can not be a lottery team indefinitely, but I’m completely fine with this being the last ‘development’ year before we really go for it. There are real franchise changers at the top of the '26 draft.
Lead Guards: LaMelo, Sexton, Mann
O Wings: Miller, Kon, Liam
D Wings: Green, Sion, Okogie
Forwards: Miles, Grant, Tidjane
Centers: Plumlee, Ryan, Moussa
That’s a deep roster who will compete, play a good brand of ball, and develop chemistry together. Let’s try to add another top prospect in '26 and then use some of our future draft capital to trade for a piece to make us a viable second round playoff team next season.
My early dream scenario, draft Cameron Boozer then trade Miles, plus picks and pieces, for the starting #5 we need.
A good insight into why Ayton would be a very bad fit here
Right. I hope that he’s a great long term back up for the team. But realistically we should draft the most dynamic 4 or 5 that we can get next year.
Looks like we might be a play in team! There is still enough draft capital to trade up next year for 4 or 5.
