2025-26 Training Camp and Preseason

Some of that will be offset when he signs with another team, but in the end I think the Hornets just use it as a consultation fee to help make sure we were in ok shape leading into start of season.

If he clears waivers we are on the books for 3.6 mil, that being said it feels like that signing was made because we were about to make a trade that was never made.

I think you may be right about the trade that was never made.

I do think we still get some money back if he signs a new contract, depending on the amount of the new contract. If it’s within waiver, the new team takes over contract. If it’s outside of waiver, waiving team receives a small amount of offset, if I’m reading the CBA correctly.

Thanks for this I didn’t realize they adjusted this in last CBA. Well that is good I guess. Maybe that will mean they will just offset the Vet Min and make us pay the rest?

Unrelated, is there a way to make hornets planet dark mode?

Where is preferences?

Click your icon in top right. Then choose the icon at the bottom. (hover it says Profile) When you click that, you’ll Preferences as an option.

Yeah, I suppose it’s aging about as well as your game thread take on Miles did the other night.

He ended up with 30 on 10-16 and 6-11 from 3.

We all have takes. Sometimes we’re right, sometimes we’re wrong. We’ve all been plenty of both. As it relates to Ace, we shall see how it ages over time. It may be a couple of years before we know which is ultimately the better player. Kon is obviously the more game ready player right now. Ace is going to take some time to find his legs, but he clearly has a skill set that was on display in the preseason so I still feel like he has the tools to become a very good player. Tre has been as advertised, an immediate impact guy who projects to be a high level scorer. I wouldn’t be mad at all if we had him. But yes, I am very pleased with Kon. How could anyone not be so far. But as I’ve said, it’s all about where the ceiling is. We all remember that Okafor was better than Dwight their rookie year. But Okafor was at his ceiling and never got much better. He had a solid, but unspectacular career while Dwight obviously reached his much higher ceiling and ended up in the HOF.

We have no idea how the careers for any of the three will pan out at this point. We will have to wait and see. But to be clear, I am pulling for Kon. I’m a Hornets fan and I want our players to be good more than I want my take to be proven right.

Interesting choice to seemingly not read any following post in that chat log.

You are being way too prickly about ā€œinterestinglyā€ and ā€œso farā€ - you aren’t alone, there’s a lot of people that were crushed we didn’t take Ace. He might be great one day, even by the end of the year stat wise, but him not being shot out of a cannon in this immediate feedback age will make this very complicated.

My feel though, and not sure I’ll move off it, sell on Miles asap. He seemed fine being second fiddle to Melo, even third fiddle to Miller. But he’s seems very reluctant to be fourth to Kon. And he’s still, in what must be his 7th or 8th year in the NBA still gets back doored and completely fails asleep defensively.

Problem is until we EVER see Melo and Miller get through a freaking season healthy at all… we need guys like Miles to even remotely fill in. I’m all for moving him for something of quality but given we can NOT keep our top 2 healthy it makes it difficult. Sure we need -glue guys- IF Melo and Miller can ever be healthy together at all. I get where yall are coming from to some degree but still. I’m just honestly past frustrated with the whole thing.

So you try to call me out for no apparent reason by retrieving a post from over 3 weeks ago, but I’m being prickly for reacting to it. Seems like gaslighting 101.

Aging interestingly so far it’s not calling you out, guy. Quite literally its hedging that it is only in the now. It’s the most recent reference to Bailey. Irrespective, it makes all the sense in the world to reference the most recent comments comparing them, and far less sense to go back to draft night or something further.

Regardless, I’m not intending to stir something up, I apologize that it’s coming off that way.

:100: Well said.
