2025-26 Training Camp and Preseason

Who is on muscle watch 2025? Any impressions from media day? Anyone going to be in Chas or Stameys-town for games?

As for me, even before I heard anything about Melo putting in weight room work, I thought he looked bigger, especially in the nech and arms. I’m not going to be surprised if he’s stronger in play on the court.

LaMelo on muscle watch?

If you watch him during media day, he looks bigger, particularly his neck. And it wasn’t tattoo, he looks thicker

Hopefully he’s stronger, head to toe. It would help his game and durability, I think.

Awesome behind the scenes video. Getting to know Brandon, Tre off the court. The mindset of Sexton and the rookies.

Like, I know not to fall for uplifting videos, the Panthers have been doing that to us for years. But the vibe feels different this offseason. There seems to be more of a synergy/identity, maybe it’s just youthful exuberance and optimism. But like the one offseason Terry had everyone working out in Miami was probably our last decent year. And I think the Jeremy Lin offseason was another one that had a good vibe to it.

Just seeing Melo looking stronger and more dialed in, Brandon and Tre healthy, the leadership of Sexton, the maturity of the rookies. I am very uneasy about the center position no matter how Jeff tries to sell it, its a position of holding down the fort hoping to survive, rather than a weapon that can be used to punish teams.

But overall, with the guards and wings, this may be one of the most fun teams we have gotten to watch in many years. I guess I’m sucked (suckered?) in again.

It’s wide open… Wide open

Badji or Al Jefferson?

I watched the preseason game against the Thunder today. After breaking down the film, looking over the most fancy of analytics, and projecting the starters/bench…I’m starting to think the defense might not be very good gasp

Kon had nice highlights. How did he look in game flow?

Guy plays with a ton of composure and knows how to move to get open. He is going to be wide open a lot this year with Brandon and Lamelo on the floor with him.

He showed jitters just like he did in his first game in summer league, but I was pretty pleased with what I saw from him offensively and defensively. Also he has a sneaky first step and very unique footwork. Looks a lot quicker in person than what I saw on tape.

Yes, This. Very much agree with this statement. Can score in a lot of different ways. Extremely crafty and can get separation to get good shots off. He also has solid BBIQ and can move well without the ball in his hands. Has a good feel for the game and can also use this to find open teammates.

oh and he’s a hell of a shooter. I’m so glad Kon was the pick.

What’s the best way to watch Hornets games this season? I’m around the Raleigh area and trying to figure out the best way to watch them.

Already fretting over not having a real PF (that isn’t injured) or C on the roster. Would like to send out Bridges and Tiddy for something of value at either spot but not sure we could get much. (ugh Why didn’t we draft Buzzelis?)… sorry just panic/grief vomiting over Tidjane and also our front court.

I’m right with you. Unfortunately, I think miles bridges is not a particularly great trade asset. I don’t think the league values him. I’m not saying he’s untradeable, but I think the return will be relatively modest. And his 25m salary will make it difficult for a contender to accommodate his cap figure. Unlike guys like nic Richards or Mark Williams, who have very team friendly cap numbers.

As for Salaun, I won’t beat a dead horse. I don’t think I need to rehash my thoughts on Tidjane. Good kid though, I wish him the best.

I’m really hoping Kalkbrenner emerges as the season goes on.

I am going to wait for Brandon to get in a rhythm before I make judgement. Give him a month.

But let’s just say it hasn’t been that good so far.

Also I can say this, offense looks very disconnected through 5 quarters. But that’s what preseason is for

Do we have preseason game threads?

I activated my FanDuel last night to check out the game. Was a little disjointed, seems they’re working out the kinks and getting into rhythm. But they do show good fight and competitiveness, it seemed there was a giant wet spot on our side as our guys fell about 5 or 6 times on drives without really getting hit.

Tre Mann looked really good, I know he can’t wait to to make up for lost time. His shot looks so natural and easier. I thought Colin looked pretty good out there too, his 3 ball was dropping pretty well, don’t know if this is the norm or just a good day.

Moussa also looked pretty good. He’s physically built and moves somewhat like Biz, but his hands actually work. And he has good touch around the basket, a couple nice little floater/hook shots with both hands. Oh, and he was matched one on one at half court against I think Cason, or one of the guards, straight got a steal off the dribble for the fast break. I feel he’s gonna make another nice jump this year.

Brandon looked pretty rough at the start. He was one of the ones that slipped like 3 times on the floor on drives. His passes were off and missed his early shots pretty badly. I’m not concerned, he still played hard, got a couple 3s to go down, he was probing with his dribble a lot with his left hand, so it definitely seems a lot of work went on that. I think he’s still adjusting to the rhythm of full speed basketball, learning to trust his wrist, and getting used to the new guys.

Kon looked decent to me, not a lot of scoring opportunities, but a couple drives looked like grizzled 9 year vet drives, where he got the angle, got to his spot, and hit the shot like a pro. Also was guarding Shai a few possessions, and looked pretty decent there.

Yep. This is what I’ve loved. Super crafty beyond his years. Great footwork and quick moves. Combined with a quick release, quick first step, and his ability to pass and move without the ball-I’m in. Call me a Kon Man.

His super quick release/nice outside shot will make defenders guard him close, but he can make people pay for their overcommitment.

Yes my nickname for him is the Konnecter because he helps the game to flow. Also I have been pretty impressed with his on ball defense so far.

Im going to the game in dallas today
