This is a fair point to make. I can agree maturity is important and we need it on this team. I just believe when you’re shopping in the #4 pick section of the draft, a section you rarely have access to, talent should be a greater priority. IMO.
Asking a 19 year old rookie to bring about culture change in an entire organization that needs a culture change is a tall order.* Yeah I am worried about Ace contributing to the negativity but I don’t think it’s fair to ask VJ or Kon (or any other rookie) for much of anything along those lines. I would ask rookies not to participate in the negativity.
With that said, I think it’s time to move on from Miles.
*You remember when we gave a kid a PlayStation and then had the brilliant idea to take it back? Did we do that to save $500 or was it just breathtaking ignorance? Either way we got about $2 million in FREE bad press.
On draft day eve, here’s a thought on an ideal outcome.
What if the hornets traded back to New Orleans so that the pelicans could add Ace Bailey at 4.
Hornets acquire Herb Jones, pick 7, and a future first. Could even be a less desirable future first. And at pick 7 the hornets are still able to draft one of Tre Johnson or Kon Knueppel. That would be pretty stellar
Herb and #7 for #4. Amazing no one has floated that idea prior. Lol
We can’t pass on Ace. That is too much of a risk:
What? We’ve been talking about that idea for several days or so now. Almost a week. I’ve heard it floated from multiple places
and I like it. I’ve said repeatedly I like it. I’ve always been a huge fan of herb jones. What’s your point? It seems like you’re trying to be antagonistic, but I don’t want to make that assumption. I don’t understand your comment.
If you have an issue with me, we can take it to private messages. I don’t feel like playing the passive aggressive, punchy comment thing on here with you. Cmon man. I haven’t started anything with you East.
Guys we are going stir crazy.
One more day and we will have plenty to talk about. PLUS I am looking forward to the second day draft. It should be exciting to talk about a second day daft.
Just hold it together.
Not a guarantee at all we still get Kon/Tre in this scenario
Flagg
Harper
VJ
Ace
Kon
Tre
Is still completely possible 1-6
I’m loving the intrigue of variance in range of Ace and Tre. Crazy how it’s a coin flip as to what side of 3-10 they land. Feels like the most Anthony Bennett of Anthony Bennetts (not career projections but range on draft night).
I absolutely agree. That’s just why it’s my “ideal” scenario. As if, everything shakes out right. It is a gamble, like you said.
If we walk away with Ace at pick 4 and keep him, I wouldn’t be shocked either.
Well, at least there’s one guy that might be willing to play with LaMelo.

Someone who thinks we should draft Maluach at 4. SMH
Then he’s a dumbass and an idiot and not relevant
Tdog Salon says hi
Yes, he’s been insistent on Maluach to Charlotte. Like, I don’t know if he’s getting some kind of kick back to continually put that out or something. It’s very odd
OMG that is hilarious. I haven’t heard him say that but he is fully capable of such tomfoolery. I am surprised that some of these guys actually get press credentials.
Speaking of tomfoolery, I might go to bed early just to get draft day here faster.
Barlow took over Chad Ford’s NBA Big Board several years ago. And he does do a good amount of scouting. He used to have a wealth of knowledge on the AAU guys coming up as well as the u18 guys in Europe. I trust that he knows the players in the draft quite well. He might not know the intentions of the team FOs as well however. He’s normally pretty thoughtful though I haven’t listened to him much at all over the last few years.
