I think this speaks more to miles than oubre

boom. nailed it. i’m so glad we didn’t give miles a bloated extension this summer. it was going to be another classic hornets mistake.

Steve Clifford:

ā€œIn Vegas we’re at 36.5 wins. I think we’re considerably better than that.ā€

We’re several games better than that! I’m tired of getting shit on by Vegas! This team is definitely more of a 38-39 win team without a doubt.

Agreed, when fully healthy. The biggest issue is Hayward may be injured more often than Zion.

Zion may be chonky, but Gordon has that horrendous haircut. At least Hayward isn’t a chonky boy. Hayward’s injury bug is so unfortunate because he seems to take really good care of his body and seems to be in shape. Whereas Zion eats like an offensive lineman or a kid who knows he’s about to get shipped off to fat camp.

I honestly think Zion’s body is so big and explosive that it leads to the injuries. Also, he plays so downhill that it also leads to exactly what happened the other night.

he’s injured again? for real? I didn’t even know.

What happened to him this time ???

Fell hard on his back trying to dunk

did he roll when he hit the ground because he’s so round?

Quitting my job in a month and will have some time off. With the team actually showing a pulse, I may follow a bit closer and do a weekly column for fun. I haven’t done any fun writing in a long while because I’ve been so busy and burned out. I haven’t named it yet, but I’ll try to post a blurb weekly or so.

Hornets GameBouk: Your Weekly Cliff(ord) Notes

Eh. I’ll keep workshopping that one.

For what it’s worth, the expiring contracts of Pat Beverly and Kendrick Nunn work for salary-matching on Terry, if Charlotte wanted to clear their future books without dealing with a Westbrook trade. Probably less likely to get significant draft capital back in that situation though.

Also: Flip Plumlee’s expiring to Indy for Theis and a second for the salary-dump. Then flip Theis back to Boston for Pritchard, filler contracts, and more seconds. Brad loves Theis. Yes, I’m proposing this primarily for the C’s benefit.

800 words into my first article! woot!

I laughed when I read the hornets signed DSJ. I thought it was a new level of desperation and futility. Looking at those clips of broken DSJ, I wasn’t wrong in my thinking. But now, what a totally different player. I need to take a dive into the analytics and advanced stats .

The general trend is they can’t get right (life shout-out) but this seems to be an exception.

Again, if I’m running the team, this makes Terry completely expendable but still preserving future roster construction

Not bad after 6 games

Unbelievable! Especially the 3pt rankings. Would have never thought that. Give credit to coaching staff, and the guys for buying in and giving the effort. Nice start so far.

That’s nuts… we are finally stopping the 3 point shot. It’s funny… It feels so normal to have Clifford back as our coach. I really did miss the guy. I wanted JB at the time, but you can already tell Clifford is a much better coach.

that’s so crazy to see. last year we were absolutely crushed by rebounding, second chance points, and giving up threes like crazy. And there was always talk about addressing it, but it always turned out to be lip service.

I wonder how much DSJ’s defensive efforts and Nic richards’ rebounding has contributed to this? probably quite a bit.
