I think Melo doesnāt play back-to-backs.
He needs to sit until heās 100%. I donāt have an issue with him not playing back to backs right now.
It isnāt like playing Melo gives us a real chance at winning. The only difference with him is how much we weāll lose by. Instead of losing by 20+ we will lose by as much as 40+!
I just want him to wear a fucking ankle brace. Iāll be honest, Iād rather trade Melo if he isnāt going to wear an ankle brace. Because heās going to keep getting injured over and over again.
Anyone that want to go for free? Shoot me a DM
Heās just not playing back to backs right now guys nothing to be overly concerned over

Best trade him before he plays again and ābadā PJ shows up.
Donāt think the rest of the NBA sees this the way you guys do. Heād be a hell of a bench player for any competitive team and heās paid bench money. He might have wanted starter money this past off-season (and there was an argument for it w/ milesā absence) but the contract heās on, heās easily tradeable - I just hope we donāt do so.
PJ will be mostly fantastic in a structured system with something to play for.
For this reason he is worth what terry is worth. An expiring and a first. Or an expiring and a young cost controlled asset
PJ shouldnāt be as polarizing as he is. We look at his explosions and wonder why he canāt just do that more often, he obviously has some talent.
But maybe if we just flip the framework we view him through, it might be easier to accept what he is. Think of him more like a Marvin Williams type role player. Capable as a fill in starter or 6th man. We should expect average stats, and heās appropriately paid as an average stat role player.
But unlike Marvin, or the Morris Twins, or PJ Tucker, or Jae Crowder, or Bobby Portis, he has the ability to go off and get 30-40 every few weeks, or get to 20 every few games. These top games are a bonus, rather than an expectation. Heās not paid like a star, so we shouldnāt expect big numbers nightly.
I do agree that he also disappears in certain games which is frustrating as hell, but I remember Marvin having plenty of 7 point 3 rebound performances that are expected out of a role player.
Heās a solid guy and a solid player, someone whoās not too expensive and can fit in between your star players. Even during a tear down and rebuild, you still need depth of proven ability to play in the league, and heās not costing us a premium, or blocking our ability to sign anyone.
Canāt agree more. The only counter point is, this type of player is a roster luxury/necessity AFTER you have a solid path to the playoffs. Right now the hornets donāt. So with that in mind, IF a deal comes up where you can cash in to progress towards a solid starting 5 you should take it. Thatās what I alluding to when I said the return of a PJ trade should look like the rozier trade.
My comment was a bit tongue in cheek. PJ is paid a little over what I thought fair, so itās probably right. Iād be happy with him as my 7th or 8th man moving forward. Not
To mention, his small ball #5 ability is a nice bit of versatility to have.
Miles, Iād trade for anything that doesnāt cripple our cap. PJ, I would only trade if itās a good deal. Plus, in my dream scenario, weāre down Miles by the deadline, so PJ is perhaps more valuable as a result.
Given how much shit I give PJ, this feels odd for me to say, but it would have to be a GREAT deal for me to want to trade PJ.
I agree with everything else you said. We have three more years of PJ at 15m. The salary cap is going up, (his salary) thatās a hair above the MLE. Itās about right salary wise. 12m per year would be āidealā, but 15m is acceptable IMO
