Hornets 2025-26 Season

Yeah I’m not understanding why his talent, potential, impact and position in the core of this franchise is being questioned.

I’m not questioning it much, but I think for those that are, it’s the concern about durability.

Talent and skills are obvious.

I remember going back to last year when miller was off the floor. Big difference with how the team plays. His absence was glaring both last year and this year.

I don’t doubt Miller’s talent. I’m just not sure I’m as sold on him evolving into a multi time all star sort of player. I don’t doubt the possibility either. If he turns into a Brandon Ingram level player, that’s still good. If miller reaches a higher ceiling than that’s even better.

Edit: Brandon Miller will only be able to reach that higher echelon of expectations if he starts to attack the basket and get into the paint much more frequently. Needs to shoot more than 3.7 free throws per game. Would also need to improve as a rebounder.

Problem is that the NBA in general and this specific coach are completely fine with chucking up 24 footers and nauseum and calling it successful basketball

It’s crazy if you go back and watch 90s basketball or even early 2000s, how different things were. Guys were so much more skilled. It seems today, guys just have any moves. I miss the big man post up game and overall posting up moves in general.

and those allstar games too.. people cared.. played hard. It’s totally pointless these days too.

You’re speaking my language

Plus, they had no issue playing back to back games. These days, they act like they don’t get paid enough to play a game.

ok… I’m done being a cranky old man. I just turned 43 yesterday, so I am old and cranky l

Happy birthday brother! Trust me, I’m 44 and I think this is my crankiest year ever. Lol

I do think Lee is giving Brandon more freedom in the mid-range this season. That gets his game going overall.

I do like the mid range game Miller does have as well. I’ve appreciated that about him this season.

and thanks dude!

I agree about the midrange getting miller’s game going. I like the quick dribble move into the pull-up jumpshot. The mid range I do not like from Brandon is when he fades away. He fortunately got some of those to go down towards the end of the wizards game that helped save the win.

I’d like to see miller use his length in a more decisive, assertive way rather than the tough fadeaway/floater

3.5 games out of 10th for the play in. Next 5 games: MEM, DAL, SAS, NO, ATL. If hornets take 3 out of 4 heading into the home game against ATL, my interest will officially be piqued. That home game against the Hawks could be enormous.

Hornets/Hawks season series is tied 1-1 with two games remaining. If Hornets can take that season series, it could be big implications if we continue to play this way. As of now, 6.5 games out of 6th.

It’s too bad we dug ourselves such a hole. That 2-13 stretch was crippling. It’ll probably be too big of a hole to dig out of. It’s fun to dream though!

It will be crazy momentum if we do.

We can put together a pretty good package for Giannis without including one of our young 3. I can’t imagine that Giannis wouldn’t be enticed with the idea of coming here if we had Lamelo, Miller, Kon. Like would the Bucks rather have Towns or a treasure trove of Picks???

A trade for Giannis would mean that you think you can win with him immediately. Plowright said it best though: Hornets are 1 year too early and Giannis is a year or two late for it to work out. But one can dream and Giannis would be a perfect fit here

Starting to feel a little like 2015-2016. A little

We are in such a deep hole wins-loss-wise, it’ll be tough to catch up, but it’ll be fun to watch.

Remember when we went on that run after trimming the fat and acquiring Micic, Mann, Grant, Green, etc. And we proceeded to play good basketballl? If I remember correctly, a month after that, our defensive rating was like top 5/6? And played well enough for NBA podcasters to at least mention “we have to at least acknowledge what’s happening with Charlotte.”

Yep. And then the injuries happened and it all fell apart. Life is not fair.

2nd half of the season for that team made them great. Probably Steve Clifford’s best season

Highlight of the season so far I think. As the kids would say, “the vibes are immaculate right now”

Sorry for the shitty low quality screenshot, but I love the elation from Melo and Kon doing the Moose ears celebration in the background.
