Hornets 2025-26 Season

Yup the gelled and really took off after MLk. This team has fun just like that one did. Moose giving the antlers and the bench exploding was very reminiscent of that vibe

I really liked the way Brandon miller attacked the basket against Memphis. Shot 4 free throws. I really think that Miller being able to drive to the rim and generate more free throws will be the difference between him being a very good player/fringe all star versus a great player. Love seeing him get to the rim and drive more.

Also, during this four game winning streak we’ve won despite the turnovers. Turnovers over the last four games: 20, 24, 21, 15. With the average of 15 turnovers per game on the season.

They are winning because the 3 is falling at a higher than normal rate. Turnovers are due to a lack of discipline and urgency on the pg part

If I were the hornets, cp3 would have been on the team 3 weeks ago

Yowza. That’s a wild stat. Is it safe to say that we’ve turned the corner?

I’ve got significant restraint due to rosters we played (Phi & Mem) and that we’re still a lesser known entity to other teams. Once people have more time to see our tendencies and prepare for us more, that will be the true sign.

but certainly promising.

One of my favorite highlights from a few days ago as Moose making a strong finish in the paint and Plumlee jumping up from his chair to cheer the guy. That’s great to see.

All I can say is we deserve this. The Panthers run restored some pride in this town, and the Hornets streaking to the playoffs would really revitalize the dormant fandom this city actually has.

As much as Hornets law dictates suffering, one other piece of DNA encoded in the law is our best teams always make 2nd half runs. We never, ever, ever, ever start a season hot. Maybe once or twice. But the big postseason pushes were the team figuring it out in the second half of the season and sprinting to the finish line.

The chemistry and camaraderie is very palpable. I don’t think it’s an easy thing to happen. Even established teams that once had it can lose it the next season. So I wont take it for granted. Part of me wants to ride out this team to see how far they can go. Can still trade Miles this summer, don’t know if we can sign and trade Collin. Grant and a pick or young piece could land us a coveted big that can space the floor (although Moose has started to hit some long balls… maybe there’s something there…)

This almost reminds me of the Knicks once they started to get good. They made a nice run with their core, then in the offseason, they took their big shot with KAT. If we make a nice push into a competitive first round series, that sets a good foundation, and we have the assets to make a swing at a difference maker.

I just don’t want to touch what’s working right now, we basically have the best starting lineup in the league since January, gotta let them cook. While the numbers may not be sustainable long term, bad or ill-fitting players also never achieve these kinds of stats, especially over many games, there’s something to be said about the synergy that Miles and Moose give the 3 young guns.

Where is the dallas vs charlotte game talk

I found it nvm

Good interview with Miles Bridges on WSOC last night. A highlight:

Question:

ā€œAs the longest tenured Hornet, you have seen many iterations of the organization so when you have the leadership, the ownership, Charles Lee… What do you think they’ve brought that’s helped to change the culture?ā€

Miles Bridges:

ā€œIt’s very organized now. Not to throw a shade at anybody else, but times before it wasn’t as organized and now we know what to expect when we come in they take good care of us. We have great practices, great shootarounds, everything is consistent. They actually want us to get better. Rick, Jeff, and Gabe they’re all hanging around… We’re not used to seeing owners hanging around here. So for us winning games, that’s us showing our support back to them. Just watching this team there are so many moments where you can see guys having fun… The chemistry that you’ve developed…where does that go back to, what was the root of the tight bond that you have now? We do a lot of team dinners. The one that went viral was when we went to Kon’s familyā€˜s house… the Knueppel family’s house. We spend a lot of time together and I feel like it’s starting to show on the court.ā€

I agree with Miles. There seems to be more of an organized force driving the micro and macro portions of this franchise. Theres a rhyme and reason to things, a vision, smart decision making higher up. And that trickles down to the team as well.

As the kids say, the vibes are immaculate right now. I wouldn’t trade or touch anything in the starting 5 unit. Including Miles. Yes, me the staunchest of bridges opponents is saying that. If anything, I think we hold Bridges and either wait to trade during the draft or before next years trade deadline.

Even end of shot clock recognition with the Shot Clock Countdown Vocalist Administrator position.

I’ll be contacting the hornets front office to explore the creation of a new position on their staff: Executive Assistant to the Shot Clock Countdown Vocalist Administrator.

In this position, I will provide the Shot Clock Countdown Vocalist Administrator a five second countdown so that he can begin his loud five second countdown. If his strained vocal cords ever need a rest, I’ll rip off my warmup pants 90s style and immediately fill in for him.

I always knew there was a real purpose for me learning how to count.

Slightly off topic, but if this works, it’s proof our college sports system is completely broken.

The fact that America doesn’t seem to care that athletic scholarships are going to foreign professionals and adult domestic professionals for straight contracts instead of American high school students is crazy.

That’s an excellent point. I’m not a big college sports fan, but it looks to me that the schools in the big conferences are building their rosters through the portal and foreign players (in basketball). So are highschool players having to go to smaller schools, get experience, then transfer to the big schools? Like I said, not a big college guy so I might be missing something. The portal and nil without many rules or body to enforce them has made it like the wild west.

Contrarian view: we need to decouple sports from schools and let both entities just be what they are. Still allow schools to have sports clubs, but let the competitive teams be proper development leagues and find other ways for underprivileged students to get an education and college to generally be more affordable.

I am completely fine with that but right now the only people getting hurt by this are thousands of d2, naia and d1 American high school athletes who will not get a paid education

This is kind of sad, but when is the last time there has been this much hype and excitement for this team during the regular season? I genuinely can’t remember.

I don’t know what’s changed but I’ve seen much more offensive flow over the last couple weeks. Much more rhyme and reason opposed to a lot of meandering possessions with just dribbling around and watching.

good breakdown in this video. I’ve been banging the table to run more Spain pick and rolls. Especially well above the arc. And the inversion you can get from running miller and a back screener and pop out option. He notes a nice little ripple where guys fake setting a screen and just cut throw the lane. Which is nice after defenders are expected the screen.
