They are hitting 3’s at a high rate
Top 5 in the NBA in terms of threes. We’re also getting to the rim and using the dribble drive better.
Because the 3 is falling the defense can’t sit
Hornets rank 5th in threes made over the last ten games and 6th in three point percentage.
6 in a row. I’m at a loss guys. This is crazy. It’s been at least a decade since we’ve had this level of excitement with this team. We’ve even won close games against our last two opponents. This is wild.
Nake in 7 in a row Monday. Rough stretch after that. We’ll know where we stand as far as play-in chances after that.
Good thing is no back to backs until after the All-star break. That gives us a chance in each game
They are, but I think I there’s also a difference in the quality. We took a lot of 3s last year, but they were bad 3s. Too many contested, off the dribble, iso 3s. This recent streak is looking like the Boston offense now.
The ball keeps swinging to find the open shooters. Melo, Kon, and Miller are being especially unselfish on open 3s. Miles still seems to take more contested 3s, but he’s starting to join in the ball movement too. Melo will still take adventurous shots, but I don’t feel he’s forcing it as much anymore, he knows if he gives the ball up, it might come right back to him for a cleaner look.
Their shots percentage will start falling back to the mean a little bit, but the difference is their defense is much more connected and in tune. I noticed today they move their feet and keep their hands up, much less reaching than before. It’s almost like they watched film on how Kon and Sion contest without fouling, and everyone is doing it.
Hawks lose, Hornets 1.5 games out of play in, 6 games out of 6th. WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN A PLAYOFF PUSH. LETS GOOOOOO
And 2 vs ATL before the All Star break. This could be fun.
Definitely need to win both of those against the Hawks
Love the talk of the team’s -GROWTH-… https://youtu.be/U_K6ki1ifMo?si=v1t1dmSUgHEDSFUn
Another schedule change due to weather. 3 PM tip tomorrow. Hope all in NC are well.
Hey Charlotte area people, how are the roads in your next of the woods? I’ve had cancellations in my schedule Monday because of the snow and was thinking about driving to charlotte for the game at 3:00 Monday. I have AWD and am okay with snow driving. I know Charlotte got more snow than my area around chapel hill.
Today in the sun they were fine, will freeze overnight but bet they will be good especially with AWD
I’ll say this. If Sexton isn’t traded and wants to stay in Charlotte when his deal is up this year I’m all for it. If and only if, that’s for a team friendly contract in the MLE range. 3 years/40 million? Trading away Green and Mann would open this up nicely.
I’ll check later, but i think Mann’s next year is a team option. So that may just solve itself.
I’m probably going to regret posting this, but I cannot help myself. Sue me. Last time we had an 8 game winning streak: 2016.
Best franchise winning streak: 10 games, 1998. Only loss was in a 16-1 stretch. That’s the season when the Hornets met up with the Bulls in the conference semis and stole a game from one of the best teams of all time.
The next 4 are big games. Keep the momentum going. Next game is after the trade deadline. Let’s see if there’s any moves made. I don’t expect much. Possibly move Green or Mann.
Whoever did this is ASS, but the meme is good:
