I don‘t get the „in between“ solution that is discussed right now.
To me it‘s either:
A.) Season is over and that‘s it
B.) Season is over - Go straight into the Play Offs according to seeding
C.) Let all Teams finish the season and have the Play Offs as usual.
To select a few teams to have a kind of in season tournament for the last not yet „100%“ secured Play Off seeds is simply ridiculous and unfair (money and distorting competition) to all other teams.
Option B and C are obviously only possible if the risk to players / staff can be reduced to an acceptable (acceptable by all involved) minimum.
