One other thing, even without melo, we won’t be a terrible team. It’s basically the same team as last year plus gordon. So other than this current losing streak, they’ll still be playing around .500 ball with an easier schedule.
Plus with Mitch sniffing around for a center, we’re probably still likely to be in the play-in tourney.

Gordon hasn’t been right either. I’d sit him til he’s fully healthy and just see. Dreams of trading for a Collins type is most likely out for now (if there ever was a chance) but that’s ok. We have Lamelo for the next few years. This season would have been nice but the seasons after will be sweeter anyway
LaMelo is doubtful for the rest of the year but not 100% out
Again, if it’s the fracture I think it is, for a 19 year old, it’s a 6 week heal time, at least was for me to resume full contact sparing (karate) at a bit of a younger age than Ball. 6 weeks seems like he’s back at the end of the season.
Very simple: if Lamelo is back for the playoffs, then go for the playoffs, if he’s out, we’re out, end of story.
Any plan that doesn’t have that conclusion isn’t a good one.
We can’t just lose on purpose though man. This team is good enough to make the playoffs without him, so I say go for it. We will still be a fun team to watch. We were fun last season.
Agreed. Losing Melo is incredibly frustrating, but I want no part of tanking. Playoff experience will be more valuable to this team going forward than a late lottery pick. If we can get last year’s version of Graham and three weeks ago’s version of Monk the playoffs are still within reach for this team. With expanded roles, I think both guys will have a chance to maximize their ability.
I wonder how long rehabbing it will be? It seems like there’s a chance he could be back by some time in May?
