Lonzo is 100% legitimate but I do worry about his injury history. That is why we need to also sign Tre Mann. But exactly what would it hurt to sign a capable PG who just so happens to be the brother of our biggest star since Kemba?
We have to keep in mind that this is also a business. Selling tickets, getting media attention and boosting public curiosity is a good thing! What about our terrible reputation that keeps draft prospects and free agents away?
I hope the FO actively explores bringing in Lonzo because that is exactly the kind of move to flip the script on our reputation. The fact that it would make our star happy is a bonus.
Thatās pretty cool. I love tattoos, and even though thatās not my style of tattoo, itās still pretty impressive. Iām more into traditional Japanese style.
This is Yahoo quoting a blog quoting a reporter citing an unknown source. Not putting too much stock into it. And even if true, could just be a pg that doesnāt want to be a backup pg more so than actively disliking playing with Melo.
I think you and I are on the same page with Melo, but Iām not making too much of this.
Yeah somehow the one unnamed player that probably is just a PG that wants to start has now evolved into Agents and players lol. People love to hate Lamelo
Thanks for sharing. This was an interesting segment. Highlights a lot of points that have been made here re Lamelo and his need to mature as a player.
It also provided insight on how weāre perceived by players around the league. To hear PG voice the sentiment that FAs would view their career as being āoverā if they came to Charlotte is very deflating, but again, not surprising to hear. But it does speak to how vitally important it is to win. Thatās one of the reasons Iām so against tanking. We have to start building a winning culture. Being a playoff team matters, even if you lose in the first round because no one wants to be associated with a team thatās a perennial loser.
Iām happy to have good odds for the '26 draft, as Iāve expressed before, because there are 3 tier 1 prospects (Flagg level) in the draft. That said, things need to change after that draft. We must then focus on putting the most competitive and complete roster possible on the court in '26.
What this franchise has never really done is tear it down and then build it up, which should have happened a few years ago.
The focus this season, IMHO, should be:
What do LaMelo and Miller offer as a lead duo?
Get our younger players plenty of game time, especially Kon and McKneeley (Salaun too, while Grant is out).
Play Miles and Sexton to maximize their trade value at the deadline.
Post trade deadline, rotation: LaMelo, Kon, Miller, Grant & Kalkbrenner; Mann, Sion, McNeeley, Salaun & Moussa. Let that group play hard for each other, before the push for wins and the playoffs the following season.
