Off Season Changes?

I was gonna say though, i wonder if he is like suspended from the league, then the salary would no longer count, would it? Who knows, because i dont think we’ve seen anything like whats about to happen to him to a player before. Closest i can remember is like Mayo or Tyreke Evans, but iirc, both of them were heading into free agency when their suspensions happened…

Regardless, you are right. We definitely dodged a bullet.

Sprewell? Artest?

Well, those had a definitive time frame given, though. Mayo and Evans were permanent/indefinite.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HORNETS, RETOOOL!!!

DO NOT GO ALL IN WITH THIS ROSTER. Retool and take advantage of a potentially generational draft and see what you can get.

GP2 signed a 3/28 deal with Portland…Ugh. That’s so affordable. I’m gonna be so pissed if Cody Martin gets more money somehow. Would be a classic Hornets dumb contract.

With Miles likely gone would a GH trade to Sac for Harrison Barnes and R Holmes help?

I’d say Sacramento would be the only team stupid enough to actually give up anything of value while taking in Hayward. So maybe.

I wonder if this a chance for a soft reset for Hayward our but more realistically Terry but not lose all of his production?

Mo Bamba signs with the Magic…2yrs/21m. Sigh.

Big sigh. F*ck KD or Kyrie, just give me Mo Bamba.

Oh well, my heart will go on.

Send them Terry, Oubre, Bouk, and some 1st round picks.

It would be a great step I think. Resetting Terry’s salary and rebuilding a good core next year around Lamelo.

Oh no. Charlotte provides a highly functional borderline all star caliber player on a favorable contract for a diva that may decide to join a taoist monastery any given Wednesday making $40+ mil. Charlotte gets the picks. sorry not sorry.

Yeah, I think Terry + Oubre is more than fair for Kyrie that would not play at nets.

Every team making moves except us. Can we already just cut our losses and pull the Miles QO already or is that a thing not allowable to do under the current CBA rules once you extended it?

Got this. Sucks that we are “on-hold” though if that’s the case and not of our own doing.

I know a lot of people are calling for the full reset at this point, but I’m not there yet. I just don’t see how that’s necessary or prudent. The cap concern we had seems to have been rendered moot by Miles’ situation since I can’t imagine he’ll be earning a salary from us beyond next season, if even that.

Further, and more importantly, I don’t envision that jettisoning Terry and/or Hayward and going into full tank mode is going to sit well with Lamelo’s camp. I know we technically have control over him for the foreseeable future, but I don’t see how it benefits us in any way to have a malcontented Lamelo destroying our locker room and Lavar out there chirping about how unhappy he is here at every opportunity.

Of course, if there’s a deal that makes sense, do it, but I don’t think there’s any harm in letting this play out. With no Miles and the 45 game season we can likely expect from GH, we’ll probably find our way into the lottery anyway, but I just think the scorched earth approach is risky. I think it’s important that Lamelo feels like we’re at least trying to win.

This is where I am. Maybe a little more liberal than conservative but definitely not a full tank

I feel like we already have the players on the team to do a minor reset while also trying to win. We have plenty of young talent. Wouldn’t have minded one more from the draft though.

Ditto for me. Not really sure a rebuild is something LaMelo would want to be part of, especially 2 years away from his RFA year.
