The gravy is that it’s not just the major ass whoopin the Heat earned. It’s the NBA records being smashed that’s giving life.
The Cavs led by as many as 60 points before settling for a 55-point win, the largest series-clinching victory in NBA playoff history.
The combined 92 points Cleveland won by in Games 3 and 4 is the largest point differential in a two-game span in playoff history and, wait for it,
the 122-point differential for the series also set a playoff record.
It’s just…so beautiful. Couldn’t happen to a better franchise. Love that Heat KuLtUrE.
Also, they can’t just sneak in and win the lottery to get another generational franchise guy to lead them to promised land. May the ghost of Scary Terry continue to haunt the franchise until the end of times.
Giannis should be a pre draft trade. Actually, Milwaukee should have a conversation with him first. If he wants to be a lifelong buck he deserves that choice. But if he wants to go get more rings, he needs to go now
I’d much rather be pulling for the Hornets than pulling against the Lakers in these playoffs, but last night was so gratifying to me on so many levels. Watching the smug, arrogant JJ Reddick get humbled, watching Lebron lose in the 1st round, and watching Gobert go Wilt Chamberlain on the Lakers was priceless!
Seeing the adjustments Kerr and Udoka are making in that series versus Reddick’s decisions in this one is night and day. Yes JJ, your inexperience was on full display. And I love the shade from Mark. I’m glad Kenny addressed the trade during the postgame.
Not that it matters that much because he’s 40 and simply the highest performing star ever, but LeBron losing in round 1 is music to my ears in the GOAT “debate”
Agreed. It’s certainly not a knock against him that he can’t carry a team by himself at 40, but an early playoff exit definitely doesn’t help the case for those who want to make him the GOAT. He’s not in my opinion for numerous reasons, and not even a clear cut #2, but at least this quiets that noise for now and that makes me happy.
I didn’t watch, but a coworker suggested that Luka can’t guard the pick and roll, and that may have been why Dallas was willing to move on from him. Thoughts? Did Luka get exposed?
No that was well known. Dallas basically went out and got a front court last year at the trade deadline and lucked into drafting lively.
The issue was that the Lakers knew that but the media pumped the Lakers as championship caliber. Next year they will be when they overhaul the roster around Luka and bron. They should trade Reeves and knecht for rim runners like Mark Williams and 3 and d guys
I found the attempt to trade Mark for the likes of Dalton heartbreaking, wrongheaded and shortsighted. I am glad that the Lakers basically made Dalton “trade for him at your own risk” damaged/unwanted goods around the league. Maybe we will stay away from Dalton now.
Falling Behind Our Peers
I am so used to seeing Detroit, Houston and the magic as the high-end lottery bottom feeder crew each year along w us and the Wizards. Now when I watch the games, I find my self rooting against those young bloods just because they are no longer on the same sinking ship w us. That is ultra selfish, petty and plan terrible.
So now I am going to hope that we move on from likes of Miles and move towards a Beasley, Hardaway Jr or a Holiday. You remember when folks clowned Houston for “over paying” Vanvleet? If we get a top 4 pick and combine that w a winning vet this summer, then we would graduate from Wizards’ mediocrity too.
Twice in a row, it’s beautiful! I hope Coach Lee is taking notes that, even with a great 3 point shooting team, you can’t focus on launching with no conscience, you have to have balance.
I like the 3 point shot as a strong weapon, not as the #1 option of your gameplay. Even the Splash Brothers in their prime with KD would probably look at Kerr like he needs to be committed if he asked them to launch 60 3’s in a game.
