Unrepentant clown thread

In appreciation to hulk hogan today, I will go into full hulkamania if we don’t get an official hornets summer league championship shirt.

Wasn’t the guy an epic ass, misogynist, and undermined his lesser-billed wrestlers to further his own gain with the Ventura-Union thing?

Sure, but every leg drop was an inspiration.

I don’t know, seemed to make amends as he got older

The world could use more of this

Yeah he was a turd.

He also was an unrepentant racist, who was sorry he got caught, not that he had those thoughts.

HULK HOGAN: “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f—k some n—ger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n—ger worth $100 million! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. F—king n—ger.”

And all my friends, we greeted each other saying that word.”

Hulk Hogan wasn’t just racist. He was so specifically and uniquely racist that after his son almost killed his friend in a wreck, one of Hogan’s primary concerns was that he and his family would be reincarnated into a black family due to “karma”. This was caught on audio.

When he came back to WWE, he hit the roster with a “be careful about cameras” as opposed to “I’m sorry.”

When it comes out of your mouth that easily, that many times, with the hard r, then I know you’ve said it thousands of times more with no problem, and you don’t think anything’s wrong with it. And saying it with such contempt and disgust, with force and purpose, lets me know how your mindset is.

And before saying that he’s a product of his time or that’s how he grew up, that dismisses the immense harm that such thinking has perpetuated and brought down to terrorize a group of people throughout history.

RIP Ozzy and Malcom-Jamal

No offense to our group here and obviously we can have whatever opinions but if we’re going to carry on about it maybe move it to off topic area on the site or something?

Uh, I think my comment about hullk hogan was taken way out of character. I was obviously making fun of him. I don’t want my joke to be misconstrued as me making light of his obvious racist history.

I was just trying to make a joke about wanting summer league championship t shirts. I don’t think it needs to be discussed any further. I apologize for making a stupid joke.

I didn’t take it as you endorsing him or anything like that. I was just wanting to point out that, while I do understand that the original Hulk was a wrestling icon with a lot of built in nostalgia and goodwill from his standing in the 80s and 90s, once we found out who the real man was, his racism/bigotry/selfishness should be exposed just as much as any other accomplishment as an example of how not to be in this world. Even though the idea of Hulk was supposed to be fun and noble, the dark side should be just as well known and understood about him.

The same for Christopher Columbus and other slave owning founding fathers. The unfathomably evil harm and destruction brought about by people, no matter their role in history, is just as much a part of the story and should never be swept under the rug. Tell the whole tale, every time.
