Watching Leaky Black play today, i cannot fathom why he can’t crack the rotation over Thor presently.
Word is he will be back soon. Was not bad
I still have never seen Thor hit a live bucket
Was thinking the same thing. I think Leaky at least earned a longer look today. I know he’s typically been known as a defender rather than a scorer, but that 3 from the corner looked smooth. I like his length, athleticism and body control.
Has anyone taken a look at the hornets December schedule…could be looking for a win for a long time in there.
I know Friday is game 11 so Miles suspension should be up. This will be the owners first big decision. Any guess on do you think he will be playing?
I think he’s 100% playing unless the NBA makes some kind of decision. There was an interview with Mitch a few games back, and he was talking about when Miles gets back, without any deflection or hint of deferment to a legal situation.
Then Cliff was just saying his last interview about Miles being significantly involved, with no speculation on if another suspension or extension could be brewing.
The team is just gonna pretend it’s all about basketball and ignore the off court stuff. But every media tidbit on us will make sure to highlight Miles’ criminal incidents. Every single broadcast, article, interview, podcast, all social media content.
I laughed when I saw the Cliff one, the same goes for Mitch. Maybe I’m just a cynic but I immediately thought that was Clifford setting up blaming a woeful season on the fact “we really expected Miles back and that would have righted things if not for [ the law, the nba, some other outside force ] that kept me from giving you all this 40+ win season”
At the town hall they were saying he is practicing with the team and is a member of the team unless the league does something. I agree he is probably playing.
Can you imagine the narrative and sentiment if miles comes back only to play very well and salvage the season?
That would feel icky to me. Edit: let’s call it “significant ambivalence”
I personally think miles is going to be rusty and out of game speed. In addition to that, he’ll need to be eased back in from a load management perspective to limit minutes and prevent injury. I’d expect him to have a minutes cap.
Or I could be completely wrong on all of this too.
Ah man, I just watched the clip of miller rolling his ankle on Sunday. That hurts man. I’d guess he misses a few weeks? Sigh.
Doesn’t Miles have a court date this week. It could be a moot point
It was today, and it was pushed to February 20th.
So Miles is going to play on Friday
I agree with all of this. Yeah, after a year and a half away from live action, he likely isn’t going to pick up right where he left off at the end of 21-22, but even a rusty Miles is still an upgrade over Thor/Bryce. But ambivalent pretty much captures what I imagine we’re all feeling. I’m so desperate for us to field a semi-competitive team that I’m somewhat eager to have the infusion of talent Miles’ return will bring, but it’s kind of like eating a greasy burger that tastes good, but yet feels disgusting even as you’re enjoying it. Or as you said, icky.
NBA to make sure & 0% chance felon will be paid and at all star game week…match Miles 2-20 court date extend…extend suspension until after 2-18 all star game. Or face deserved back lash & 100% some fans done.
I have said this all along
He will play and play a ton
Should be back sooner, hopefully Friday
Once the team made the decision to bring Miles back, it was set in stone that they are going to use him. My issue is with bringing him back in the first place, not with the inevitable 30 ish minute allocation he’ll get once game fit.
I know you’re about as down on Cliff as anyone can be on a coach who hasn’t run over their pet, @Eastley, but give the man LaMelo, Terry, Hayward, Miles, Mark; Cody, Miller, PJ & Nick and he would indeed give us a 40+ win season. Cliff seems like a fine coach, popular with his players, while still holding them to account, and a good basketball mind. Yes, as a head coach he has his limitations … the most obvious being he simply doesn’t adapt well in the moment, as he’s stuck in a rigid, predetermined system of playing. But, considering all that’s going on in the franchise, Cliff is close to being the least of my worries. He’s not the HC I want going forwards, but he’ll do until we have a competently constructed roster and an actual direction for the franchise to follow.
