Can’t make a professional and an adult do this. Especially in an institution with a union.
Where was MJ in this? MJ the player would have had a strong conversation and wouldn’t put up with it. I like Lamelo, but he’s got the rethink this, suck it up, and get used to the braces. He must realize him being injured hurts the team. He got the bag, but that’s all he’ll get if his injury issue (ankles) doesn’t get resolved. Braces, maybe even a shoe change, must happen. Also, who else wears Puma, and are they having ankle issues?
It’s not the Puma’s. All of these major players wear custom made shoes. It is the lack of braces. Steph had to do it early in his career. Melo should be wearing braces. Hopefully, this is the end of him not wearing them.
Of course, but there are ways to have that conversation with Melo other than leaving it up to a 22 year old.
Also, this is where having a legit nba vet leader in the locker room to say, “hey bro for real, you gotta protect your health and your team. It sucks but you gotta push through, I’ll show you some more comfortable ones that other people have liked.”
No official word on Lamelo yet? I saw Rod Boone tweet he’s doubtful tomorrow. So, that’s promising I guess.
The way he was down in the floor for a while looked bad.
So how’s morale here? Pretty low.
Not only did we lose Melo a quarter or so into the first game in forever that we’ve had everyone back…we lost Melo at the start of a grueling December schedule. It might get ugly.
Honestly, I’m sad for LaMelo, but with the injuries and absence during the start of the season, with the easiest of easy schedules, there’s no way we were going to do anything other than finish with a record that gave us a late lottery pick and continued our presence in that zone of purgatory.
If we can get through this season knowing a lot more about Theo, Bryce, NSJ, Thor and maybe Bailey and add a talent from the sharp end of the draft we can start putting out a roster that belongs in the top 6 seed conversation. There are 2-way wings and 4s in this draft who might be very good. Add one, get a good backup PG, add a vet 3&D wing/forward or two, and we’re ready to move forwards, not just tread water.
It’s not great having to wait yet another year, but that’s what happens when you lack patience and discipline, and pull the pin too early with the likes of a Hayward signing, which I wasn’t a fan of when it happened and still wish it hadn’t. New GM, new HC, reworked roster with a top 5 pick, and then we might just have a franchise worth getting excited about.
Sort of on the same topic…
Has anyone noticed the style of glasses Scoot Henderson has worn recently? (See thumbnail on video below) From my view they block much of his peripheral vision. It reminds me of Ammo’s rookie year as he started to falter. I wanted to scream, “Get your hair out of your eyes! You need all the physical advantage you can muster!”
These kids…
Has he worn the glasses all season? The early part of the season prior to injury, his three point shooting was abysmal. Less than 15%.
However, the last two games he’s 5/7 from deep. This was the big thing for scoot, the three point shooting. I watched the scoot highlights from the recent pacers game and his three point shot looks great, so I don’t get it. I had zero doubts he’d catch up to the speed and level of play in the pro game after a while. He has the physical tools to do so, the work ethic, and BBIQ.
But it’s the three point shot that will change everything for scoot. I wasn’t surprised at all to see him get off to a slow start. Being a 19 year old PG in the association is rough man.
Edit: also, it should be known that #00 is my favorite jersey number of all time. So I have that bias haha. People sleep on the number 00. So many good nicknames can come from that. Ex/ The Double o assassin.
Miller has way better stats than that . Millers stats last game was better than that . But he isn’t getting that kind of hype. 13 points and two threes WOW Miller has beat that stat line more than a few times all ready this season.
I am totally fine with Miller being the pick. I was team scoot but have definitely come to the position that Miller is going to be a very good player.
Pain. I expect it to be 2-3 months with our luck. Why can’t we ever have nice things? I hard enough for us to win as is.
Of course miller has better stats. I wasn’t comparing the two.
I hate sports ball.
I think I may sell all my tickets until February
LOTTERY BOUND!!
It’s not been a big market so far this year
