I agree that Terry is better off the ball because he’s a scorer who can distribute versus being a distributor who can score. So in that regard, I agree with your point that it’s better for all parties if he’s not saddled with having to run the offense. But I wouldn’t consider what he does hero ball, mostly just because that term tends to have a negative connotation.
I think the shots he takes are shots he can make and has made throughout his time with us, but I think he’s still a very willing passer, as evidenced by his assist totals. If it seems like he’s pressing, I think that likely has more to do with the fact that we just don’t have a ton of other offensive options right now, especially when Lamelo is not on the floor. For much of the game last night, Terry and Miller were the only guys making shots, with Mark eating off of assisted dunks.
Nick got paid, only front court vet traded, and playing like Nick 2 years ago. Cody did similar get paid couple years before unfortunate weird injury & Miles beater.
Sure Roster needed #3 vet strong addition for this year this late in game. Going forward, 26 year needs to show up strong or look for better.
Guard, Forward, Forward/Center
Bouknight, JT Thor, Kai from draft couple years ago not working out.
No front office has perfect batting average. 30 million under cap next year, more if will go over cap to rectify mistakes the best FO play chess & will do.
Our team pay role is 29th out of 30 teams . With 10 men on the roster next season we still have the bi annual exception . and the MLE to sign two rotational players . and still have three two way contracts. At least two to three players to add real debth. Unless we trade Hayward at the trade deadline . Then things could get close to Luxury tax line.
I am telling you guys something is really really wrong. That quad injury was major thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play again for the Hornets
There was video of him working on corner 3s with one of the assistant coaches. He did have a brace on of course but he was moving ok. It must be like an arthritic condition which isn’t good long term but he may have a few years like Brandon Roy did.
My concern is, what version of him will we get when he does come back. He basically hasn’t played basketball in a year and a half and is coming off of what is evidently a significant set of injuries. It’s such a shame because he was exactly the type of athletic, defensive minded but still offensively capable player we need in the rotation. I hate this so much for him and us.
I really don’t think they’ll be in a panic at all. We’re positioned pretty well. What we need are some vets sprinkled throughout the team. Unless we’re picking in the top 10, you have to wonder if any rookie would contribute to the rotation before the trade deadline, unless they’re a competent PG.
Next year we’ll have three Cs under contract, still only one PG though. We’ll have plenty of options at SG behind Terry, I think we’ll resign Hayward to a much more suitable deal to back-up Miller, and we have PJ and Thor at the #4. Not gang busters, but the makings of a solid team.
I started saying it this summer, but Cody Martin may very well be done.
It’s sad to think, but none of this is good.
I’d be shocked to see Cody Martin really play meaningful minutes again. But worse, the hornets obfuscating the truth about the injury. Or trying to, anyways.
Man ain’t nobody worried about them and they don’t care about us unless it’s something negative. I don’t even want national love when this thing turns around. They can all kiss my ass
Yeah, I saw this last night. Totally unnecessary. And did they use that opportunity to mention that we have probably the most impressive rookie in the league so far, nope. But shortly after this exchange they did dig up a photo of Felton, May, Okafor and Morrison from over a decade ago to continue clowning us…because that’s totally relevant right now.
