Unbite your tongue. Set it free Chef. I need your support in beating this dead horse. That dead horse/ongoing problem won’t beat itself.
Wow what an incredible group that wears the Lamelo ball shoes. Truly elite company!
I’ll eat my words, I had no idea that Joffrey Lauvergne wore Lamelo’s signature shoe. Damn guys, my bad.
You’d certainly hope part of LaMelo’s injury evaluation is his foot ware.
Did i just see Ashley Shamadi (spelling maybe wrong) interviewing Kyrie after the game.?
Certainly.
In the lime green? 100%
Ummm no.
Chef, we need a 2 guard, why not? We have the Cap room, who else is going to come here?
I would not want to give up our first round pick, but I think we have some assets to trade or maybe we trade back and get Dillinghan or K George, the Miami kid.
Injury prone guy that has relied on his athleticism. A combo guard that’s not even an average defender or plus distributor. And he’s making LaMelo money. Eh, gonna pass on that
How about we trade for Wiggins and Moody from GSW?
I’ll ask you the same thing, what’s the alternative?
If we get them for nothing in for our Cap room, are you guys saying that you just would rather have nothing
Because that’s what you’re gonna end up with
If you aren’t going to have miles and you can get him in a scenario where the hornets would even get an asset in the deal then I could see it.
I can’t stand the thought of miles, melo and lavine making a combined $100m+. Melo and lavine are made of glass and miles is a bbiq nightmare for me
Rumor, Hornets interested in Okoro
Now you are talking! This kid is young, talented and professional. He fits our time horizon and a critical positional need for the team. Too bad free agency starts after the draft because this kid would alleviate some pressure. I will have to look up his defensive stats but he is a much better bet than a failed locker room cancer oft injured over the hill overpaid moody punk @ss bitch like Zach.
A good fit, stylistically, to play with LaMelo and Miller. Much more like the player we need to bring in on the Wing. All comes down to $s, and I think we’d actually be quite an appealing prospect for him.
Hard no to Lavine. Injury prone, high usage, not a good defender & makes a lot of money for three more years. If we bring in a 2/3, then I want a defender who can hit open 3s and play off-ball. Okoro fits that template nicely.
Would love that and keep the core but we Will undoubtedly overpay or not have any shot
Question for you … and others … is it just me with my Hornets hat on, failing to be objective, or isn’t this a pretty good situation for Okoro?
The way I see it, he’s been a spot starter / rotational player thus far in his career. There’s a crying need for a 3&D wing in this starting unit, and that player will be paired with LaMelo & Miller … an objectively very talented young pair. Okoro can simply play to his strengths and be set up by LaMelo & Miller for plenty of, hopefully, good shots.
With our new HC having a good rep, and having come from a winning program which certainly featured their excellent Wings, and the coaching staff he’s assembled. Plus the entirely new structure and personnel in the front office, again headed by a young guy with a good rep within the association … I’d like to think a player like Okoro would see the Hornets as a good option.
That said, yes, we’ll overpay.
I’m a fan of Okoro in general so don’t want this to seem like I’m down in the idea of bringing him here. Even if it’s a slight overpay. But if I’m honest, I don’t see a major difference between him and getting DSJ back here. If he’s fully healthy, I’d prefer DSJ.
The size upgrade is nice and if Okoro was a 38+% 3pt shooter or it seemed like he could get there, I might not think this. Or if Smith’s health is a concern, I’d go Isaac and not think twice.
It’s a very good situation for him.
DSJ left for a reason. Unless he is enthralled with the new regime, he’s not coming back to Charlotte.
