Maybe I’m just not very smart or watch enough basketball. I don’t recall seeing Paul George spend much time playing SG, even with the pacers. I always saw him as a SF in lineups through and through.
Isn’t Paul George the guy that everyone think Miller is supposed to be?
I have no skin in the game . Just repeating what Mitch said in his presser today . Saying he would be playing some back court with Mello . No need to shoot the messanger . All i have said has come from what i have read or have saw on television today. It’s no need to be aggressive
Agreed Dav. Sam Vecenie says he can cover 2s defensively, Dylan Jackson feels he’s going to have to play more a SG/SF until he gets his weight up.
Powell, going to suggest if you cannot find a way to allow for others to have opinions that you disagree with, take a break here. Dav is 100% right, there is absolutely no reason to be this aggressive.
Again I ask: When did Bradley Beal, Clay what’s his face, that kid out of Duke who trips people, and Garry Harris get so dang fast? How many positions can Scoot play? And do you remember last year when management got the pick right yet there was a revolt on this board immediately afterwards?
I’ve gone through the 7 stages of grief with not drafting Scoot, lol. Having said that I do believe I’ve reached Acceptance and Hope. When I objectively look at Miller’s skill set, our roster and his fit, he may actually give us a huge boon on both ends of the floor. Not saying he’ll guard 2s, but did average basically a steal per game and a block per game in college. Coupled with his shooting, length and positional flexibility, he could provide a lot of value for a long time. If we keep Lamelo happy enough to stay in Charlotte, Lamelo, Miller and Willams is a really good base.
I guess where I’ve gotten - and this has kind of been the message I haven’t gotten, lol. Scoot may end up being the better player, but Melo/Miller may end being a better pair than Melo/Scoot.
This is pretty interesting, especially given the chatter about odds that occurred on draft day:
Charania, who works for both The Athletic and FanDuel, reported earlier on Thursday that it looked like prospect Scoot Henderson going to the Charlotte Hornets was “gaining serious momentum,” which shifted the betting odds on the draft’s second pick.
Well, Charania’s report didn’t come through as the Hornets wound up selecting "It's Miller Time!" instead. The problem wasn’t so much for folks that Charania was wrong as much as that one of his employers, FanDuel, reaped the benefits from the lines changing and folks betting (and losing money) on Henderson going to Charlotte.
It sparked a wave of backlash from people who felt that FanDuel benefitted from Charania’s reporting, which the company has denied having any knowledge of when Charania reported it.
