Terry and 27 could get dallas
This but for Gradey Dick
Derrick had 4 good years.
Steve Francis started to break down in year 5.
Eric Bledsoe had 1 year before his knee started failing.
I wish none of this on Scoot. In fact we should be celebrating Scoot as a windfall for the organization. But history canāt be denied.
Thatās bold. Werenāt you all in to the max on Mo Bamba for 2 years?
I really like Hendricks too.
Assuming we take Scoot at #2 Iād be doing everything I could to get him if heās there in the second half of the lottery.
Same applies to Jarace Walker. I have him higher on my personal board and would love him on our roster.
I doubt we have the ammunition, sadly. Canāt see #27, Terry or Hayward and a couple of 2nds being enough, unless we take back a bad contract.
I like Hendricks too. In fact if Dick isnāt there I would go for the UCF kid. Now that MJ is stepping back itās plausible to take a boom/bust upside guy w the second 1st round pick. He may take 2 or 3 years to develop but we need a TALL 3 point shooter.
The obvious way to jump 17 spots is to offer Terry, the 27th and some of the second rounders to Dallas. Would Dallas pass on a known commodity like Terry for a draftee? I think Luka would take Terry in a heartbeat. That makes Hendricks and Dick possibilities. If we want to bring Terry off the bench behind Melo and Scoot then we offer Gordo (expiring contract), 27th and a few 2nd rounders to GS, Nets and the Blazers to target Brice, Leonard Miller or Jett.
Or we could just sit at 27 and gamble on someone failing. If we do that then we should either sell all of our second rounders to get into the 1st next year (possible due to a week class) or draft 3 second rounders and have the funniest summer ever watching them compete to the biggest payday in their lives in the form of a roster spot.
We should be getting pumped up for the draft! We are going to win this Thursday. Itās inevitable.
A trade that I would absolutely make, via @Plowright.
LaMelo, Jalen Green, Trey Murphy, Jarace Walker & Williams (plus Bryce, Thor & Richards) is a staggeringly exciting young group. I can not fathom a better return from #2, #27 & Terry then Green, Murphy & Walker!
Bring back DSJ and try to add another adult, ideally a PF, to join Hayward & Cody. Not sure that I can talk myself into having Draymond on the team, even though he would be perfect to show Walker the ropes.
I could be talked into that trade. However, Iām taking Whitmore at 4. Especially since I donāt see Bridges on your roster
I think most would take Whitmore too. I happen to have Walker one spot higher on my board. Either one of them would be great at #4.
Not having Miles on my roster is very must intentional. Until itās official, Iāll keep hoping he doesnāt come back.
Yep same here on Walker. We are pretty simpatico on this draft.
Far far too cute. When have we ever done something so fancy?
I agree with you.
I highly, highly doubt Mitch capable of pulling off a trade of this magnitude. In addition, the fact I really like it means itās likely a bit too weighted towards the Hornets.
All that said, Iād love it if he did.
Isnāt this a trade Bill Simmons came up with?
Honestly Iād rather just stick with Scoot or trade for Zion. Iām not a big Jalen Green fwn
It was. I saw it on Plowrightās Twitter. He tweaked it slightly I believe.
Thatās the thing, we all have our favourite flavour of ice cream.
Zion is a hard no for me.
The proposed trade is an absolute gift to us, IMHO. Iām not the biggest Green fan, but he has undoubted talent. Then thereās Murphy, a really nice, young 3&D wing. Finally Walker at #4 ⦠a defensive menace, very good passing, 250lbs PF who can also play small ball centre. I think thatās an incredible haul for #2, #27 & Terry.
Charlotte Cash Considerations Hornets. Michael just bought that 3 million dollar sports car not too long ago. Some serious cash considerations invested in that purchase.
In his defense we really donāt have the roster space to bring in five new rookies this year. Obviously I hope weāre able to move these picks for future seconds (even if theyāre 8 years away) but I wonāt be quite as angry as the years where we make one pick and trade the other. Our farm system is already pretty crowded right now
Maybe donāt trade a lottery pick for a late first and some 2nds right?
Donāt you put that on me Ricky Bobby
I absolutely love that youāre still as livid about that trade today as you were when it happened! Youāre never going to let it go, nor should you.
Kindred anger spirits.
