Considering we never seem to get the whole of what we think - as fans - we should get in return in trades (very good reason we fans feel that way), would sending out the 27th and 2nd to get back the 3rd and 14th be terribly upsetting to HP?

No, but if I’m trading away from #2 I need a known commodity in the deal.

Trey Murphy, for example, is a name I’ve seen in a couple of trades and would be a great addition. If you add Murphy and Miller you’ve got a pair of two-way wings, who could be cornerstones for many years. Picks to balance the value. That would be worth it, in my opinion.

LaMelo, Murphy, Miller, Miles (excuse me while I throw up in my mouth) & Williams with DSJ, Bryce, Thor and Richards is a great young group that needs a couple of experienced, Marvin Williams type, vets to make some real noise within a year or two.

If the FO are really sold on Miller, I would like that haul since we’d most likely end up with him. If they think Scoot is the better player they should stay put IMO

I agree, if the Miller cadre on this board believes in miller so much, they should be banging on the table to trade down to 3. And if the hornets select miller at 2 instead of trading down for assets at 3, you all should be irate.

There’s a tweet stating the hornets will prioritize bringing back PJ, Miles, and DSJ.

So if they’re going to bring back PJ and Miles with Hayward there…why draft Brandon Miller?? Miles and PJ are going to cost dollars.

  1. Gordon Hayward has one year left on an awful contract. He shouldn’t even be brought up. He’s not part of "It's Miller Time!"’s future.

  2. Long-term… Miller, PJ, and Miles could each get 32 minutes ONLY playing among the so-called 3 and 4 spots. PJ can even occasionally slide over to small ball 5 with his good length and surprising ability to bother shots, and he shouldn’t automatically expect 32 minutes a night anyway. Miller might even be able to be a so-called 2 for all we know. Weren’t you just preaching how little position matters as long as players are triple threats?

  3. There is no “ROSTER fit gang.” There are people who value LaMelo who hope that LaMelo and Scoot would be the best versions of themselves together, and speculate on it that possibility.

I’m not a member of the Run It Back Party. This roster eclipsed at 43 games and a play in blow out, so why tie more years of salary cap to run it back?

It’s not same roster now that you’ve added a potential DPOY(Mark Williams) and tonight’s pick(Scoot?), along with LaMelo hopefully getting even better. I suppose that would be the reasoning.
