2024-25 Hornets General Discussion

Kyle Anderson was a point guard mindset kind of player. Like Boris diaw

Malik didn’t want to be here at the end, he was ready to get out. That was one of the late great Rick Bonnell’s last scoops he gave us.

With Nick, he has too many live ball turnovers right now when he’s trying to create. You can see him thinking and trying to read things instead of playing instinctively when he’s not focused on trying to score exclusively.

It will come with time and consistent reps, as it did for Malik when Cliff would play him at backup point guard. Those reps ended up paying off for him as a player, hopefully it will do the same for NSJ.

Guy was doing blow man

RIP Rick

But he did not know anything

My guess is Malik Monk greatly benefited from playing with LeBron James and then Domantas Sabonis. And simultaneously he grew up age/experience wise.

I’m glad he found his way. Someday, perhaps, we’ll have a culture of truly developing young talent here. Perhaps it’s in the beginning stages now. I know there is Hornets Law, but there is also the law of averages, and the law of averages states that we gotta have a decent run at some point???

Well, I don’t know if I’ll make any more games this year. Good grief

Eh, we weren’t winning with him out there at any great clip. Let the kids play it out the last 10 games is fine by me

Shocker. Melo needs more work done. He sees the surgeon more than most movie stars

Sabonis, Murray, Carter and Picks for Ball and Williams?

Hold onto LaMelo one more year minimum and see how things play out with whoever we draft.

Johni Broome! Why isnt he getting more attention as an NBA prospect? I’ve heard his name all year along with Flagg as the front runners for college player of the year. I hadn’t really watched him play til now. Didn’t know he was a 5th year senior and I’m sure that plays against his NBA allure but it actually feels perfect for what we need from a big (mature and ready to play). His post game is nice, passes out of the post well, looks like he has range to step out and shoot the three. Rebounds well. Ironically enough, tankathon has him mocked to us in the 2nd round at 33. I would think he won’t last that long especially after showcasing his skills in the tourney.

The Lamelo news is actually good news. His right wrist and ankle definitely have not been right since the first surgeries to each and also helps the Hornets because we need to lose the rest of the season so I am actually ok with the news. Sucks we won’t get to see Lamelo in the final games but hope is that this puts him on a pathways towards a sustained level of NBA dominance.

I agree; it’s better for him to have surgeries now and then go back to training with Miller and Tre in the summer. Resets the timeline for everyone in the team and gets them on the same schedule. Might as well sent Mark for foot surgery too.

Think of it this way guys, Lamelo has averaged 25pts & 7 assists half to three quarters fit this season. Imagine what he could do if he was fully fit all season, I certainly wouldn’t consider trading him yet

Not sure I’d just chuck him under the knife for giggles

Not for giggles, obviously, but he might need it (assuming the Lakers were not flat-out lying).

I’ll assume they were flat out lying. He’s looking better every game

Wash rinse repeat. Both on the court and the conversations in here. This team is a living treadmill

Quiet Riot’s ā€œMetal Health,ā€ but done in a minimal country style.
