Matas Buzelis I think he’s our guy!
Reed Sheppard over Knecht easily! Sheppards like a quicker and better shooting Kirk Hinrich
Why doesn’t he start?
I don’t think Calipari started Devin Booker
Is Donte Divincenzo the likely worst case scenario?
Best case Mark Price?
Where I do see him fitting in nice is that if you over commit on Brandon or Melo, he’s going to make you pay. And it looks like he doesn’t need to have the ball a lot to produce on offense. In that regard, he fits in perfect. (and that shooting percentage is bananas.)
What do we give up when he’s on the floor though? He’s Rozier’s size, but can he be pesky enough to not lose the matchup?
Looks like he started yesterday against Tennessee. By the way, this from the game recap:
In this performance, Sheppard made Kentucky history in several regards, according to UK statistician Corey Price.
Sheppard became the first player in Kentucky history to record three games of 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a single season. He also broke the record for the most points scored by a freshman at Tennessee, previously held by Malik Monk.
Maybe this is meant to be? The universe wants us to have some redemption?
Didn’t watch the game. You think Knecht makes more sense? I know the number 40 is greater than the number 27. That is all I know.
Though Reed looks to offer more in the hustle department.
I didn’t watch either. Reed being a freshman is impressive. You know that shooting will translate.
I don’t like his size taking melo into consideration. For me, melo needs a true sg. 6’6" is way better than 6’3" especially if you think neither are going to be defensive stoppers or overly quick.
With melo, miller and miles already on the floor, a 6’6" off ball motion guy and knock down shooter fits better.
I am also still very much wanting to avoid 6’3" combo guards until the team is set across the first 5.
Feels like it would be fairly easy to find a 3 point specialist too if you have the opportunity to select a player that might be more impactful overall.
That being said, I’m talking generalities. Don’t want this to be misconstrued as analysis of either of these guys.
Me too. I am ignorant on college basketball and prospects in general
I’m not sure I get why some Hornets fans are so high on Sarr, in most drafts I’d say go BPA but in this one I’d very much factor in fit , I don’t see how Sarr fits on this team unless you want to get rid of Mark.
I don’t see Sarr’s shooting or offensive ability being good enough to play as a power forward like some are suggesting.
While I see the potential, as a prospect I also think he has massive bust potential, I could see a world where he’s basically unplayable.
this. i get bust 100%.
Hornets need to sign Shabazz!
Sheppard with a terrible one and done tourney performance. Probably gonna hurt his stock. I was already skeptical.
Reed Sheppard let me down!
As a TN fan, I like seeing Kentucky lose.
I’m good on Sheppard. Total possum in headlights. Deer are bad in headlights but at least they don’t roll over and play dead.
Knecht looks like a solid NBA rotational guy. He could be a better version of Duncan Robinson as a floor
I’m taking Sheppard over Knecht… Sheppard has more upside especially since he’d only a Freshmen… I wonder if he stays another year now tho…
Definitely a good point on knecht. I don’t think I would take him top 5-7 only because of his age. At his age, an NBA player should be doing that in college. Especially in today’s college basketball.
