Nice to see this sort of hands on with Coach Lee.

The biggest growth players make is in the summertime. No time to hone down skills during the season between practices, game planning, travel, recovery, games.
Most of the biggest jumps you’ll see in a player are between year 1 and 2, and 2 and 3. So this is a huge summer for Salaun, I would love to see glimpses of better ball handling and offensive awareness this coming season. And especially some strength so he can actually start finishing at the rim.
G-League run at the beginning of the year would be awesome for him to practice his new skills and build muscle memory and decision making at game speed and situations. I’m still highly intrigued by what he could be, and if he starts to show improvement in his weaknesses, he has a chance for his trajectory to climb pretty high.
For this whole team I hope they are MUCH stronger.
I’d play him in summer league with KJ
I’m really rooting for Salaun. He’s always seemed like a good kid, hard worker. If he doesn’t make it, it won’t be because of effort, work ethic, or the lack of support from the hornets.
I’m just having a hard time seeing it though. I’m also wrong all the time, look at my track record here. And ask my wife. Even if Salaun doesn’t work out, I give the front office a pass on the pick though. In a draft of that nature, just go with the high upside. During the draft process, my thought was on the opposite side of the spectrum: “this draft sucks, therefore take the most clear high ceiling floor player. You can at least know what he’s good at.”
My only caveat about Salaun is that I hope he doesn’t impact how the front office builds this team (drafting, trades, free agency). As if they’re counting on Salaun working out. I think that would be a serious mistake.
I’m rooting for him as well, how could you not to be honest. A good TS is great for the Hornets dynamic, our very own mini Giannis
So much for Josh developing this off-season

Green is expected to make a full recovery.
Would suggest we’re trading him as our medical staff cannot promise that ![]()
Sounds like he’ll be out a good 6 months. Maybe more? Who knows
Six months would be horrible. I think that Josh G would be excellent on a second unit, over paid, but a great contributor.
Even if we have Josh O on the second unit, then having Green injured makes him that much harder to trade.
This seems like the first bad news of the off season.
Dang.
So it begins already. Just how it should be. We are always injured
Should have already traded him…
Whoever we trade for will get hurt… 100%. I feel bad for whoever we draft.
I am guessing that this is the correct thread for this post:
We traded a 2nd round pick for a G-League player? Obviously no disrespect to Rodman but I didn’t even know that was a thing.
I like the move. The way he played in summer is part of establishing the new culture, showing players what Hornets DNA looks like from summer league, to the G-League, to the varsity team.
I don’t have any issue with the move other than not understanding how G-League “contracts” work where we would have had to trade a second round pick for him. I admittedly do not pay very much attention to it but its always seemed very fluid where those guys just seem to hop teams without draft compensation for undrafted/fa types.
When did the Celtics sign Rodman? So he was on our summer league team and then we let him signed with the Celtics and then gave up a pick for him? I don’t understand haha
Why wasn’t he on the Celtics Summer League team?
EXACTLY! Very confused about this…
Is there a g-league draft? Maybe it’s a gl second. ![]()
