What is the “restart button”? Complaining that the team can’t draft… Then we want to trade for more draft picks? Also trade away big contracts for who? Who ever wants to sign in Charlotte?
Is it bad I’m already here?
I guess when I say value I mean in terms of getting back talent and picks. Sure oubre and plumlee have contractual value especially in relation to production.
The rest, not so much. Terry MAY get a late first from a contender but would definitely require taking back salary.
With the exception of the Westbrook deal we always speak of, I just don’t see where anything great is coming back
I miss the Crown Club big time. SO jealous.
Oh I’m not in the Crown Club, I was saying we’re only 16 games into the season and I’m rooting for us to land the number one pick
Thats my friend and boy Kemba jersey . The nicest Horent player i have ever met. Wallace was a good guy too but not a Kemba. Still have all my signed Kemba Jerseys.
Founding,Gerald, who is the nicest Hornet you know??
The only player I ever met is Jeremy Lamb, ran into him at the Epicenter.
A few years ago I got free suite tickets, when I went into the bathroom Rich Cho was in there.
So I can say I took a pee with Cho
The Lakers and Hornets are starting to become perfect trade partners. Lakers are desperate to get out of the tanking spot, can’t gift the Pelicans a top 3 pick.
At this point, take Westbrook and the future 1sts. I’m sure they want Terry, add in Oubre and that works. Or if they gamble on Gordon’s “health” for his future playoff playmaking and shooting, maybe it could be Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn + future picks for Gordon/Terry/Oubre.
Veteran shooters that can open the floor for Lebron and AD would completely change the team and make them dangerous again. We can cut our keep Westbrook, doesn’t even matter anymore.
Yup, but leverage them being desperate. If I am the hornets, you absolutely have to take hayward’s money. I don’t care if it costs me protection on one of the picks.
Yea, the Lakers HAVE to try to do something. As you say @QC_Thundercats, they don’t have their picks to benefit from good Lottery odds.
Not perfect partners for us as the picks will be years away, but they’re certainly willing a one.
I’m still not sure I want their draft picks. I don’t love our chances in using them correctly.
Yes but you want wins less. Getting rid of Hayward, Terry, oubre and plumlee gets rid of wins. We aren’t getting them anyway but this is like having bug service come to prevent infestations not treat them
You can hope, but comatose Mitch isn’t going to trade anyone. That’s not what he does.
We’ll ride these guys to the bitter end.
We won’t need to tank as a strategy, it’ll just happen naturally because we’re not a good team when healthy and we’re very poorly managed. Guys like Kai and Williams will lose a year of development because we don’t know what we’re doing.
I to see development as a problem . Witch needs to start with management and coaching.
I think we can sign two max contracts if money is handled right. Letting contracts expire and or trading for expirings. Melo is a point we start and a well thought out plan go from thair.
I’m with you, I think Mitch is the undisputed tank commander, he just doesn’t know it.
Random pull here. Do you recall the Bill Murray movie “The Man Who Knew Too Little?”. He plays a guy who gets signed up for one of those immersive role playing murder mystery experiences, but he actually gets sucked into a real life, dangerous spy/assassination plot-but he thinks it’s all a part of the role playing actors. Bill Murray’s character eventually figures out it’s real and not part of the murder mystery role play.
Maybe Mitch thinks he’s helping the team win instead of tank, but he’s actually been slowly leading the team into tank mode month after month, and season after season. And maybe this is the part of the movie where Mitch realizes that he’s leading the team into tanking and not winning.
I’d keep an eye on Chicago as a team that could wind up desperate to make a win-now move as well. They owe some picks in 23 and 25, but they’ve got Portland’s pick this year plus Pat Williams and Coby White to play with. Could be a deal to be made there.
If he could stay healthy, Hayward would be really good for them. They have a ton of scores but few motion/table setter guys
This is why we should trade for Cole Anthony!
