Favorite choices to replace Steve Clifford

Now, then JB comes back with Dunlap as his lead assistant

I think if it’s Lee we should hear news soon. There will be enough down time until the next series starts for him to come down for final interviews, and have an official hiring announcement.

With the Lakers and Suns job opening up, I wonder if thats where Bud is looking to hop to. Though, the Bucks might can Doc for him if he wants to go back.

I thought we might hear rumblings about Lee or Quinn now. I’m starting to worry. My HTSD is kicking in.

Kenny and JJ

We were searching for coaches at the same time last round w/ the Lakers, right?

Yeah East. And the thought back then was they beat us to the punch with hiring Ham.

I’m wondering now if our top candidates wanted to wait until after the first round to see what jobs were open before committing to us. And us, being who we are, said sure, take your time!

Hornets Law.

Of the first round losers, which jobs will open? I’m guessing probably MIL and PHX in addition to the Lakers job. Non of those jobs are currently great situations, but they do have history on their side. CLT, of course, not so much.

Probably Phoenix, that’s a massive underachievement. Milwaukee may give Doc a full year and a pass because of injuries.

I can’t see MIL firing Doc. They are paying him, Griffin and Bud still. They can’t be paying 4 coaches at once

I also want to put out there that I think JJ will be an excellent coach and we would be lucky to get him.

Yeah. That’s about right.

I mean, he’s not wrong. But who says we’re in the driver’s seat to begin with? We rarely have been able to force action without overpaying, and in some cases, significantly.

It’s a totally different regime now and that should be taken into account at least slightly

I’m talking about us as a market, not necessarily any particular owner group. Arn Tellum and the Kobe draft was what i had on my mind.

Well we weren’t the only team that Kobe didn’t want to play for

Do we think we’ll interview Ham at this late stage or we still happy with JJ & Lee

I don’t think Charlotte has much influence on anyone choosing them. They either have to commit to a big big paycheck, or take whoever settles on risking their career there

Exactly. Sad and depressing case but with the teams history and the negative perception around the league that still lingers over this team Any potential head coach worth their weight isnt picking this team without a massive contract and even then still might not pick us over other potential jobs. Sucks
