Hornets 2025-26 Season

Not to get too ahead of myself, but with the streak going on I just can’t help but look ahead a bit. Currently in 10th, but 6 games back from Philly in the 6th position. That feels like too big of a gap, unless Philly plays .500 ball or less and Charlotte continues this impossible streak. But 7th feels realistic. Orlando occupies 7th and Charlotte is 3 games back.

Philly: 6 games behind
——–
Orlando: 3
Heat: 3
Hawks: 1.5
Hornets (hold tie breaker over Chicago)
——
Bulls: 11th in standings

Remaining games/season series:
-Bulls: Hornets hold a 2-1 season series lead with 1 game remaining against Chicago

-Hawks: 1-1 season series tie, 2 games remaining against Atlanta

-Heat: 0-2 season series advantage for Miami, with 2 games remaining

-Magic: 2-1 season series advantage for Charlotte, with 1 game remaining

-76ers: 1-1 season series tie, with 1 game remaining. *Edit: no Paul George for 25 games, so we’ll see what happens with his absence*

**Remaining strength of schedule:
-**76ers: 18th
-Magic: 22nd
-Heat: 27th
-Hawks: 26th
-Hornets: 12th
-Bulls: 4th

With Chicago’s strategy of selling at the deadline to acquire 700 guards and a treasure chest of 2nd round picks, along with their remaining SOS…I think it’s okay to write off the Bulls for the most part. Hornets play the Hawks twice in the next three games before the all star break will be the biggest stretch of our season. Beating Atlanta twice and securing the tiebreaker over them is huge.

If the Hornets are somehow able to get wins to secure the season series tiebreakers against Miami and Orlando also, I really do feel that 7th is very realistic all of a sudden.

Lastly, in March the Hornets have a 7 game home stand and will play 10 our of their last 14 at home.

Have we finally broken the dreaded “Hornets Law”?? Did I just curse us by saying that??

Also, not related: Ive been using a website to watch replays of the games from this year (ad free too). I probably shouldn’t post the link, but message me if you want it.

Never talk about a no hitter

I simply can’t help myself. We’ve been waiting a long time for this. I internally debated saying anything but I’m so excited I can’t keep it on the inside. I’m waiting to regret saying anything at all haha

I hate to say it, but Tre Mann has looked horrible this season. Which is such a bummer because pre injury he was so incredibly exciting. Pre injury, he made so many plays, looked so smooth and in control, and was dangerous with the ball in his hands. And was even solid defensively! He was great and deflecting the ball.

I felt so great about him being the energy guard off the bench. I feel so bad for him.

KJ Simpson waived. It’s funny that 24 hours ago this team had 6 pg’s and now only 3.

I assume we are signing a free agent / waived player?

I do wonder if Lonzo is coming in. Would that be a distraction at all?

We Signed Tosan Evbuomwan from GLeague to 2-way.

WOW!

Summary: The Hornets ran their winning streak to eight games on Thursday, they’re 20-7 when LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel have started together, and they upgraded their bench by swapping Sexton for White. They’re now in Play-In position and it’s just a matter of how high they rise.

This means we are 4-21 when our core 3 does not START together.

This Tosan Evbuomwan guy seems like a decent player. Played for a season or two in the NBA and got actual minutes and produced. I think it was with the Nets though? But still, he put out stats.

Also is 6’8 215 and can kind of shoot the outside ball. Is PJ Hall still on the team as a 2 way? Hard to keep track of.

I was think the KJ waive was about bringing on Lonzo. Maybe not. Do we still have one roster spot?? God this is hard to keep up with.

Based on the 20-7 record with the core 3 starts, if they stay healthy the rest of the season, they should be 22-8. That will be 46-36. That’s .561 winning %. If the rest of the conference plays to their current percentage, that’s good for 7th.

Also, I am not said about KJ being waived. Was not a fan. IIRC, he had a cool dunk or two. One last season was pretty sick. Knicks game later in the year??

Who knows, if the hornets actually do finish on a 22-8 run, and the 76ers go .500 or slightly under .500 without Paul George (for 25 games), they could actually push for 6th. Highly doubt it. But just saying

Ummmmm, yes

This is a lot of rosterbation and hard to keep up with. In terms of 2 way contracts we have: PJ Hall, Antonio Reeves, Tosan Evbuomwan. With KJ waived.

Hornets still have 1 roster spot after waiving Conley. I think. Will they use that for Lonzo? No idea. I don’t mind it if they do. I don’t really know why that could be such a distraction. It’s not like Lonzo is a clown. Good vet that I hope doesn’t have to play much. Unless Coach Lee doesn’t trust Tre Mann anymore, which is understandable.

Out of curiosity, how so? Lonzo is a tenured vet and has it together.

Edit: I’m not really for bringing in Lonzo based on the fact that he’s just not very good. As the kids would say, he’s “cooked.” But I’m not really against it either. If anything it seems silly to occupy a roster spot. After all that said, I’m not against it either.

The Hornets 15 man roster is full

I forgot Tillman. That’s who I omitted in my mind.

That entire family is only about themselves and promoting a brand.

Absolutely not. They earned it. You guys were all overly concerned about breaking up a vibe. This has a much higher chance than trading miles.
