I guess I disagree to a point. Sure, they earned that moniker with the Lavar ball and BBB bullshit, which was how long ago? Over 5 years ago? Lonzo has gone through the ringer and has been humble throughout the process. I don’t hear much from Lavar ball anymore really. Lonzo reinvented himself.
I see these guys a lot matured from 5 years ago. I don’t quite share the same issue of there being some crazy distraction.
I wouldn’t even come close the risking it for a player that is adding little to no value. Seems like all risk with very little reward
I really can’t recall a time where Lonzo has been egotistical, Lavar Ball sure but Lonzo all I’ve seen from him is sticking his head down and playing basketball. Both LaMelo and Lonzo have also clearly distanced themselves from their father when it comes to business as well.
Regardless, pre-injury Bulls Lonzo would’ve been the perfect backup PG and 6th man for this team but nowadays it seems like the injuries have gotten to him.
So I wouldn’t hate taking a chance on him. That said, I also wouldn’’t want Ball fans to push that he’d play more than he should. That’s my only worry. I wouldn’t want any drama. But I will say that I wouldn’t hate the move and the 3rd PG.
He’s certainly been bad this year but he’s still a decent defender at the very least. And can take care of the basketball. Again, i wouldn’t want him playing any meaningful minutes, which means bringing him in doesn’t matter much anyways.
That’s 9 in a row now fellas! I thought the magic would drop a game tonight but they made up a 17 point deficit against the Jazz. Interesting stretch of 9 games upcoming. Starts with a tough four game home stretch:
DET, ATL, (8 day break), HOU, CLE (rockets and Cavs are a really tough back to back)
Next 5: @WAS, @CHI, @IND, PDX, DAL (no back to backs)
If we can keep the momentum going against the next four tough opponents we’ll get a much easier stretch. A bit worried about the 8 day break in the action. Definitely need the rest, but not sure if that’ll throw the rhythm off.

Boring ass all star weekend that no one has cared about in basically two decades. A dunk contest filled with no one of any relevance. And some stupid celebrity game that again, no one cares about.

Exactly. I remember when the Allstar weekend and game were great… when guys weren’t too cool for it. I’m a Lebron hater, but I credit him for ruining the NBA for the past forever years.
Farcical, I get it’s a part of the game at this point but Orlando should have dropped that one last night - frustrating.

Yea that was ridiculous. I didn’t know that the jazz sat their guys for the fourth quarter. What a total joke. As the season goes on, we’re going to see a lot more of that shit from several teams. Wizards are already doing it. Nets just straight up waive can Thomas.
I have no idea what the NBA can do about it though. And the worst part is that I can’t blame the teams doing it, which makes me hypocritical. I’d want a top 3 pick in this draft so badly.

In no way am I proposing this for the nba, this is just more of an aside. I do like the way euro soccer will relegate the bottom 2-3 teams into a lower division. Theres also no reason for teams to tank in soccer.
Rewarding losing is so weird in a country as hyper competitive and individualistic as the United States. Our country tends to be very anti “hand out” and against “participation trophies”. Yet it’s totally cool to blatantly tank in pro sports and get rewarded.
Nope even lottery odds for all teams in the league. Playoffs or not.
