I do also worry about the playoff style basketball that is just different from regular season. This team is more defensively capable and rugged than we ever expected. So it’s hard to say
For me. It depends if they willl let us foul like other teams do in the playoffs. I hope we get a fair whistle.

Since we started this heater of a run, some of the stats and graphics about the hornets have just been mind boggling. I feel like we need to catalogue a collection of these absurd stats. Maybe I can tell my future grandson one day about this 2025/26 run. To which I’m sure the kid will say “sure grandpa really cool story. Now everyone shoots 4 point shots from half court. I can’t believe people shot 3 pointers back then.”

Man… we are so far away from everyone, I couldn’t even find us. It’s like we are in a different league. lol
I watched a replay of the game. Watched most of the third and fourth until 5:00 left. That was a tough one to lose. Hats off to the Heat and Herro for playing a crazy game. I think the Heat lose that game 9/10 times though without Herro going nuts.
Losing ground and losing the tiebreaker to Miami is a double kick to the balls. Especially within the context of Miami playing without norm powell and Wiggins. That’s a really tough loss to take.
I don’t know if 6 is out of play, but if we don’t get it I want Miami to get it. I don’t want to see them jerks in the damn play-in.

It’s as if the Hornets getting hot woke them up. That struggle early in the season is going to be difficult to overcome.
As long as we don’t have to play Miami in the playin… it’s fine. But… I bet that’s what willl happen.
I’d like as high a seed as possible but 9-10 isn’t all bad for we’d still have a lottery shot.
No matter how you look at though that loss hurt.

Now that we’ve proven we are human again, the realistic goal should be to get to #7 or #8 here. We’ve got games against Orlando and Philly coming up that will be huge in that goal. We can win tiebreakers against both with victories.
Even with ATL being hot right now, I don’t think it’s going to last and thank goodness we still have that tie breaker with them in our pocket. But as I say that about ATL, their next 4 games are Dallas, Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Orlando. Good grief.

I kind of think that’s a perfect way to enter the playoffs: huge game against an historical nemesis that you either figure out or go home.
While it’s a very challenging test, it would be a tremendous confidence and momentum builder to try and make a playoff run.
