Hornets 2025-26 Season

I would be disappointed at first, but happy with the lotto luck. Caleb Wilson would be perfect for this team and set them up for a long run as a contender in the East. And still have all those picks to rotate talent in and out in the future ala OKC.

Does anybody know if the 1st round pick we’re getting is before or after the lottery drawing? I’m going to guess after. We get the worst of WAS, MEM, PHX, ORL. It’s still possible that could be a lottery pick, as PHX and ORL are most likely in the play-in. Just thinking ahead a little.

Well I mean we would all choose that but NBA won’t let us move up anymore they are gonna spread the talent around and rig it as they always do

It is after the lotto drawing so there is the tiniest chance that washington grizzlies Suns and Orlando could all move up into top 4 and thus making the floor of that the 4th pick. Anything is possible!!! But yes if Orlando and Phoenix both miss playoffs through playin, that is a lotto pick

That’s what I thought. I remember the last time we had 2 lottery picks. Those were the days. Glad that worked out great!

Embiid out: https://x.com/shamscharania/status/2042324025737691368?s=46

I had an appendectomy. It’s not that big of a deal, but he will probably miss the play-in.

But come back just in time to play us in a 2nd playin game right? lol

Yeah I hate it for Philly, but that definitely makes them a lot more tolerable.

Looking at the standings, I think the best we can hope for is some type of tie situation. We have tiebreakers with Atlanta and Orlando, so that helps.

Atlanta playing Cleveland and Miami, they still have potential to lose out, though I don’t know if Miami accepts their fate at #10 and rests guys in that last game to get ready for the play-in. 45 wins ideally

Orlando does have Boston in the season finale, but they basically have a bye against the Bulls, though they have been playing better, for whatever that’s worth. 45 wins ideally.

Toronto has the Knicks and then the Nets, so I think they get to 46 wins, out of our league.

Philadelphia has Indiana and Milwaukee - I actually think Indiana is the tougher of those two games, but I think they win both. 45 wins.

So plain and simple, we gotta win out. The Knicks are up one game on Cleveland and won the season series, so if they beat Toronto, they lock up the #3 seed and presumably would rest guys against us on Sunday.

We’ll see what Detroit does tomorrow. I really have no idea what they’ll do - Bickerstaff is old school, so who knows.

Great article

I’m definitely down to clown and get Giannis on the team, but I just don’t know what the cost would be. Bridges, Mann, Green and four 1sts? Not sure. The on the court question mark is pairing Giannis with our non shooting bigs. Giannis with Moussa will crater our system of three point shooting. I just really don’t like having two non three point shooters on the floor. I think having seen the Hornets/Bobcats do that for years has instilled a visceral reaction to two non shooters playing a lot of minutes with each other.

But, I get it. Giannis is a force and can overcome that. But for me, the concern still stands. I think with Moussa and Giannis, I think defenders will be able to sag back and back the paint.

I’ve never seen a player as snakebitten as Joel Embiid. Good grief. I wish it didn’t happen for him, but if it had to, it’s too bad it wasn’t before the Hornets game last week. Sigh. Looks like a crash course with the 9th/10th seed and we have to play…Miami.

A play in revenge game against the Heat to kick off a new era of Hornets playoff basketball? The last time the Hornets played real playoff basketball it was against Miami…why not kick off the new Hornets era by beating Miami?? Still a chance, though very slim for the 5-8th seeds. (I think?) Regardless of scenarios, just win baby.

Hate the heat matchup.

No better time than the present to exorcise that demon.

Oh I hate it too. But it would be cathartic and symbolic of the new era to beat the Heat. Miami is actually the last team I want to play.

The silver lining to the 9/10 seed is to play Detroit first round. Fuck Detroit

Moussa would come off the bench in my mind. Giannis is a 5 in our system. Who the 4 is, they would have to be a shooter. If we trade Miles, fine with drafting a 4 and starting Grant Williams in the interim.

Yes moose can’t be a starter on a legit title team. Not big enough to be ben Wallace and zero offense
