Hornets 2025-26 Season

It pains me to say this but this might be josh greens last season in the nba if he gets moved this off-season. He hasnt started a single game all year, hes played a career low in minutes since his rookie season, hes also averaging a career low in points since his first season on a measly 4 points per 15 minutes a game, he hasn’t been getting rebounds or assists either. This will only get worse as kon and Brandon miller progress and tre mann comes back

Now I want to beat his ass. Like literally if we get them first round and down 3-0, I want Moussa to whip his ass.

Trying not to speak to soon, but feel like there are overwhelming positives from this season regardless of the next couple of games. We should be a real threat next season, even with Pacers and Bucks possibly coming back alive again.

Absolutely. I think we’re ahead of expectations, but ready to go all in and compete. I hope there are a couple moves made this off-season to get this team where it needs to be to be contenders in the East.

Off season we need Kris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Andre Drummond.

From everything I’ve gathered, Giannis has not wanted to play center. I think having him play center would increase his injury risk due to the physicality needed every night. I could be wrong, but I feel that Giannis has no desire to play center.

He doesn’t even like setting screens. Which is also a red flag that he may not fit in our system. Moussa sets a hell of a lot of screens. Even Brandon miller sets a huge portion of screens, statically ranking towards the top of SFs

Knicks sitting their whole starters plus Mitchell Robinson, should be 9 seed

I think we should at least be very judicious with minutes for our guys. Mainly Kon, Coby, and LaMelo. Need everybody ready for the play-in.

Good points. I would say moose sets a ton of screens in part because it is literally the only thing he can do offensively

But I do think overall regarding a giannis fit, I agree. This team really needs a post player who can also shoot reliably from 18 ft to take maximum advantage of Kon, miller. Melo, Colby strengths.

Julius Randall comes to mind. So does boozer and Caleb wilson.

Okay then first half be up 25 at half and play bench 2nd half

Jeff Peterson has said previously that they won’t skip steps in the building process. So maybe they won’t make a big move like Giannis no matter what we feel.

I think it’s going to be interesting to see what the owners think though. This is a new position for the franchise and there’s a lot of excitement around the new training center probably being finished next season, and now winning expectations for the first time in over a decade.

A big move wouldn’t completely surprise me for those reasons, but it’s just fun to be on this side for once.

Outside of a big man starter, I think we need more bench scoring. I think this is where Liam comes into the picture, I think he can pair with Coby as a nice 1-2 punch there. Josh Green seems to be falling out of the rotation for whatever reason, and I think those minutes can shift to Liam.

Bench - Coby White, Liam McNeely, Sion James, Grant Williams, Kalkbrenner. That’s not a bad 10-man rotation. Figure a couple of guys like Josh and Xavier Tillman won’t be back, presumably for another vet or one of the first round picks. Oh, and then Tidjane hopefully not being on a two-way.

Maybe one more three point sniper off the bench would be cool too.

Oh the obvious - PJ Hall replaces Tillman as the 3rd big. Easy

I think the team’s on the floor production skipped some steps though so I could see the timeline being accelerated since we are closer to win now than we thought. I am expecting a decently big splash this offseason, we have a ton of assets and there projects to be a ton of star player movement over the next 12 months.

I agree, except I wouldn’t say skipped steps, this year they took multiple steps, with the biggest step being health. I think they’ve proven they can contend and need just a couple additions to be right there in contention for the East. It is possible that ownership and front office think differently. This will certainly be a very interesting off-season. Which won’t start tomorrow for a change. :slightly_smiling_face:

I think part of the “not skipping steps” conversation is setting yourself up for sustained success as opposed to an all-in shot that may or may not pan out. Right now, not only do we look good for the immediate future, but we look good for the next several years if we continue to find good picks and buy reasonable players when we can. I’m not saying I wouldn’t be in on Giannis, but I think I’d be very careful about what I gave up to get him. You don’t want to be in a situation where it’s not working out for whatever reason, and suddenly everyone wants to jump ship.

I also think we may be in the uncharted territory of being in a place where a guy may see us as a real contender and take a little less money to play for us as opposed to a worse team that can offer a little more. I’d like to live that life for a bit before going nova and maybe burning out quick.

At the end of the day, I feel great about the fact that I trust the team to do what makes sense. So, come what may.

There’s also this part of me that feels pretty foreign, being that I don’t want team the team to make any moves for one more season. Given the insane stretch of basketball that transpired January 1st and onward-I’d like to see what this starting 5 does for an entire season before making changes.

And it’s also an odd position for me because I’ve been one of the people pounding the table for a center than can at least somewhat shoot. I’m scared to disrupt the ecosystem that produced these results. I just wish Kalbrenner was a decent three point shooter. Having a backup center that could hit a three would add a nice ripple.
