I hear ya especially if it’s a clear the deck trade like giannis.
The issue isn’t so much just shooting for the centers. Between miles, Kon, melo and b mil there is far enough spacing.
The issue is that neither moose nor kaulk are a drive threat or even a post threat. They are completely limited to swinging door handoff or pick and dive. If they could either be a threat of the dribble (limits the perimeter jumping of screens and high doubles) or post presence (allows picks up top from the other 4), the offense would be way more dynamic
in agreement - someone like jay huff would actually fit like a glove. his contract is a great value for the pacers - so I don’t see them needing to do anything there. but if we had eyes open on a similar fit - could be a great fix - even if a cheap one. id easily give a 1st up for his contract.
From a three point shooting angle. Huff was able to block some shots and is a little better defensively. Veesar isn’t much of a shot blocker and may struggle with foot speed to make the defensive rotations. I’ll be interested in seeing how his nba combine testing shakes out. Kalkbrenner is sluggish, but is keen about knowing where to be. And how to challenge without fouling
Well HP family, what a fucking season. 44 wins. Glad to share this insane roller coast ride of a season with you all. We deserve it. Whatever happens tonight against Miami, I’m finally proud of this team from top to bottom. The future is bright. Finally. Beating the Miami Heat tonight would be oh so sweet.
Yeah I’d definitely be disappointed if we lose to the Heat tonight. Could be really deflating and not a good note leave on heading into the offseason. But for some reason, i wouldn’t be devastated. I’m just happy to be where we are. Sort of like the panthers playoff loss to the rams in a close game. I was quite disappointed but felt okay about it.
Really funny tidbit from bill Simmons and Zach lowe about this hornets/Heat game: “Loser has to take back Terry Rozier.”
However, how we lose will dictate my level of disappointment. Please no flat game or a repeat of getting absolutely drop kicked for two straight years by the Hawks. Please god no.
I got entertained this year. That’s all I ask of basketball. The Hornets breathed new life into this old bag of bones former baller who thought he owned the streets of Charlotte back in the 90s, chowin’ down on Lupies and tryin’ to look like LJ in the weight room.
You guys have absolutely enhanced the Hornets experience for me. Thank you.
As for the future, just give me a bit more length or strength or mobility in this lineup.
Any 1 or 2 or these:
A slightly longer and/or bulkier version of Moussa
A longer “4”(I still think Miles has some “3” in him, if he stays).
A slightly more mobile version of Kalk.
A perimeter creator who plays like 6’5" or above. Just in case LaMelo reverts back to health issues. And we don’t know the future on Coby White.
Oh great, now we’re on regular news about how Melo punched the mascot.
Trying so hard to build a villain. Yes, he sliced Bam’s achilles open while breaking his spine with one finger, he cusses in front of children on live national tv, and hits people with his car getaway car, and now punches his furry animals in the head and decapitates mascots.
We’re gonna have to give him the Silence of the Lambs mask when we roll him into arenas now to protect everyone.
I haven’t tuned in to the national sports media shows much at all in a long time and when I did of course the Hornets were never a topic. Tuning in for the first time in a long time to the shows on FS1 today, (Cowherd and First things First) where the Hornets have been the hot topic. Interesting to see how they’re viewing us. Colin was somewhat positive, not coming down too hard on Lamelo but doesn’t take us serious at all. Nick Wright despises us, and in particular Lamelo which doesn’t surprise me.
But it was interesting that none of them on FS1 seem to take us serious at all and seem to think it’s laugable that we could be any threat to the Pistons. I’m already very satisfied with our season if it ends next game (especially if we can go win the lottery) because we’re ahead of schedule but I do want that Pistons series to happen so bad. With the way we played since January, I think its crazy not to give us a punchers chance against the unproven Pistons who struggle on offense. We could absolutely push them to the limit and perhaps win a series against them. I’m not saying we should be favored of course but I would feel really good about facing them verses say Boston or even Cleveland in a 7 game series.
Usually watch a little cowherd and FTF each day. I saw the opening today. I thought Chris Broussard was fair about LaMelo and the incident last night. But Nick Wright absolutely hates LaMelo. It really doesn’t matter, what national reporters think, but winning is the only way to shut them up. I believe we are at the beginning of doing just that.
Even Blake griffin and udonis Haslem with the prime crew last night said “yeah maybe a flagrant 1, but that’s it we don’t need to go overboard.” And at that point I moved on.
And then I notice the character assassination of Melo ball today. It’s funny how the narrative has shifted from the hornets as media darlings and Melo has turned the corner…and shifted into whatever we want to call this.
Regardless, that was one of the very best basketball games I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t up to the unc/Duke final four game level, but it’s up there
Man the character attacking if him today was so out of control I basically was checking people all day on their irrational hatred of him. They equate the car wreck to as if he had stabbed or shot someone
