I know the league is reviewing the Melo thing. I’d guess it’ll be upgraded to a flagrant foul, of the 1 or 2 flagrant variety. But because it’s the hornets and Melo ball, I’ll give it a 30% chance the league suspends him for next game. Would the league suspend Luka or draymond green for the same thing? Of course not. But at the end of the day, we’re the charlotte hornets.
The league exists to make money. I’d imagine they’d happily use an opportunity to shut down any potential for charlotte to make it into the playoffs (or further into the playoffs) because it would hamper ratings.
Sorry to be negative, but we’re hornets fans. We’ve seen some shit.
You’d think fans would rather watch us than the Magic or something though. We are one of the most fun teams to watch.
But, if it happens to anyone, it would be us. We can’t get away with things other teams can.
Out of the Magic or 76ers who would you guys rather us play? To me both teams have aspects that would get me concerned but I think I’d rather play the Magic

Yeah I’d say the magic if for no other reason than the opportunity to knock them out and into the lottery where we could possibly get their pick. And Orlando it is!
plus they have some turmoil/tension between Banchero and and coach Mosley apparently. They are vulnerable.
Shams announced no suspension for Lamelo. yayyyy. And we get to face Magic possibly without Franz. Let’s LOCK IN AND MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

So we need to beat Orlando and the Warriors to go on the road and beat Phoenix to secure a lottery pick. It could happen.

If PHX loses, we’re guaranteed a lottery pick. Wether it’s our own or worst of PHX/ORL. I think. Some of this stuff makes my brain hurt.

Yep, that is true. So there’s no scenario where both will be lottery picks because if we lose to Orlando then that other pick (their pick) falls outside the lottery.

I think he’s saying if Orlando wins then our own pick becomes a lottery pick. And the thing with that is we wouldn’t need three teams to move up in the lottery for it to be top 4. We’d only need to jump up for ourselves. Neither is likely to happen so I hope we win and get this Pistons series.
either way we’ll have a couple picks just outside the lottery or maybe one at the end of the lottery. Perhaps theres a way to package them with other assets to move up to 4.

Melo fined 60k for the upgraded flagrant 1 foul and the cursing during post game interview. No suspension. There was a small part of me that was worried about a suspension. Nothing the league does at this point surprises me. Glad Melo will be available Friday.
