The new NBA season starts in a few short days and you know what that means - Fantasy Basketball Time!!!
As usual, anyone is welcomed to join us and allyou need is a free, easy to set up, yahoo account! Here are a few details about the league:
Its a daily league so it would be best to check your team at least every couple of days for injuries, game cancellations or other unexpected events that may impact player nightly availability.
Its a daily league so it can be an absolute grind! That may not be a selling point but I want to be honest and set reasonable expectations for anyone who is a new team manager.
Zero experience is necessary to participate but not having any experience likely means that you won’t finish in the top half of the league at the end of the season. Some dudes are real pros in the league and are super competitive. There are times when I finish in the bottom two or three!
We would absolutely love to have you!!! Or if you know of someone feel free to send them the link below. We’d prefer to have folks who are Hornets fans or at least will moderately manage their team during the season.
For returning team managers, a couple of weeks ago I sent a message (I think via email). The message was not a big deal if you missed it. I have also posted a message on the announcement page regarding the draft date and time.
The draft date and time are Monday October 20th at 8:15pm. You can see your randomly created draft order assignment, from Yahoo, at 7:45pm.
I totally forgot about this last year, so I didn’t draft. I’ll try to do better this year. Came on strong at the end of the season and somehow won the whole thing.
I’m sure this year, with me trying… I’ll get last place. Haha
Hello! We need one more person but I have a solution!
Problem: If we go into the draft with an odd number then Yahoo, will auto draft for the ENTIRE league!!! This will happen because we are a head to head league. That to me seems like a nightmare so I have the following solution.
Create a 10th profile and set that profile to draft from the BOTTOM 350 or so players ranked by Yahoo.
Let that “AutoBot Hornets’ Fan” wilt on the vine for the entire season (ie never make any changes what so ever) so that one manager each week will get a bye week.
I am going to implement this plan now since we are getting pretty close to draft time. I will also send this message to the league via Yahoo.
Sorry guys that I am taking such dramatic action but I figure that there would be no objections to this solution.
FYI- I had NO IDEA that you were Cafe Fear TT until your original post here! I have an awesome story to tell you about Cape Fear hospital even though it nothing to do with your fantasy bball handle. I will send it in a private message this evening.
Okay, I am priority ranking players from the bottom 650! I am surprised by how many names I know down there! I will see if this thing goes lower than the 650!
Hi, Here are the draft results for 2025-2026! An autobot was used to prevent Yahoo from forcing an entirely automatic draft for everyone. See if you can spot the autobot! Again, thank you all!
Yeah JP is supposed to be starting at PG for Pels - well until January. I forgot to remind managers to set their players pick priorities for the draft. I will do my best to remind people next year.
