Classic hornets summer league dominance. Every year. Lol jk guys.

Is Bryce Mcgowans the first player in nba history to play worse in each of three consecutive summer leagues?

Is he also the first player to get waived by a team and then start for that team in summer league same day?

That seems familiar actually. Just the team and him having a mutual advantageous situation. He wants to be seen to try get picked up, we want the body out there familiar with the program. Just in his case, he might have been better off not playing if he wanted to garner interest.

He’s another horrible defender. He has a decent offensive game, sometimes

Did Bryce, Leaky and NSJ lose their jobs last night?!?!?

I thought that I would be able to watch the game but I couldn’t but dang it the stats man. The stats, the freaking stats:

From the stats they were all inefficient. Not panicking, just very disappointed to think that these guys maybe can’t pull it together. They just watch as a bunch of dudes get fired meaning nobody’s f-ing around and this is serious.

Bright spots: Caleb McConnell, Mouhamadou “Mo” Gueye, ReaQuan Battle, and Jake Stephens. Simpson and Morgan were good but they are just too d@mn old to get a two way. ReaQuan just might be an undrafted free agent two contract winner!

All of their other dudes who faired well (efficiently) we’re in the G League before for one year. As for the undrafted free agent guys who didn’t get off the bench (I was most curious about Drew Pember) my guess is that they showed nothing in practice.

Good for third C spot if we can’t find somebody else?

Did anyone catch the announcers saying Lee spent the day in Vegas watching Brandon miller with the select team and then hopped a flight to Sacramento for the game?

Dude seems like a machine.

Also, I swear this isn’t straight shade at melo, but it seems like the organization and especially new coach are a making Brandon the focus. Lamelo seems completely disconnected from the organization and mostly of his own doing. Brandon seems to be a basketball player first. Melo doesn’t. It actually might be the best thing for melo long term. He isn’t a leader and now it looks like he is going to have the space to do him like he wants to.

To answer ncborn about Pember i just think with 3 games in a short amount of time they want to save a few players for the 2nd game and so they may rest Stephens and NSJ

Minnesota was KAT’s team before Ant took over. Same thing happening here, which is probably best for both their personalities.

But also, I’m guessing Melo’s spending time with rehab and strength training at home. There was video of him at Lee’s intro conference getting along great with him and all the players, so I don’t think theres a disconnect or anything.

This season will tell a lot on how the roles and hierarchy is defined.

The main take away from last night was how hard the guys that were out there were putting in effort. All but one. Bryce stood out in a big way in how much he wasnt like the other out on the floor. I hope, for him, he learns something from this experience. He world be a great g league talent for us is think. But he’s got to find that teamplay and effort.

I have a feeling that this might happen to miles bridges this year as well. “One of these is not like the other” sort to energies. We’ll see. I’m happy to have turned over a lot of the roster, but wish Bryce the best. He could look really smooth on offense in the past, but I remember Cliff getting pissed with him about his overall effort, intensity, and lack of defense.

Edit: I believe cliff buried Bryce on the bench for a good while.

Looks like tonight’s game will be on Bally in CLT. Hope the crew is all back this year.

My thoughts too. However, I do get the impression Lee might be one of the very few coaches who can get through to the likes of Miles and, dare I say, LaMelo too. Time will tell and I’m hopeful that Miles has a good season, so we can get a good return in a trade at the deadline.

Saw an interview a few weeks ago where Miller pretty much said that he would take over this year. Miles doesn’t have the credibility and Melo doesn’t have the desire so why not? It will be amazing to see a sophomore take over the team.

And yeah, Miller’s mentality is what the coaches are preaching. We need the best of Bryce but if he can’t get on board then ship him out.

He’s been waived already. How much more can you ship him out?
