I am sure we waiting on other teams to make a offer . Then we either match it or try to work out a sign and trade. Or just let him go.

If I read/understand correctly, they can’t sign and trade this year, s&t not allowed once the season starts. A trade becomes an option 3 months after the contract is signed. Trade deadline is Feb. 9. Nov. 9 is 3 months before the trade deadline. Looks like they will have to sign him by Wednesday if they want to trade him this year.
Best of luck in turning life around, this will be great for family and him.
Not here. Has not said or done anything to want him back in teal.
I understand how many feel about him and his situation but I feel like it’ll be the final nail in the coffin for me as a Hornet fan to watch yet ANOTHER asset walk away with little to nothing in return. Like has been mentioned we’ll likely let him walk to make some sort of statement… the Lakers or some team such as them pick him up on the cheap and he’ll do well on the court with few giving even a side eye glance at the off court stuff.
My wife told me this morning that google news was saying we in contract talks with Bridges
I dont even know who said it. I couldn’t find it.
Part of ugly fandom reality, accept bad and criminal behavior as long as win games and winning sells tickets for MJ.
I feel like it’ll be the final nail in coffin if we kowtow to this wife beating child abuser.
From what I’m hearing from Charlotte locals is that their seeing Bridges out partying and doubt he could pass a drug test!
Charlotte shouldn’t re-sign him. It’s probably time to tear the whole team down while you can still re-set around LaMelo. If the Lakers won’t come off of two firsts for Gordon/Terry then Flip Hayward for Lonzo and a first, flip Terry to someone who needs a scoring guard (Dallas?) for a first and matching salary, and move forward with some extra draft capital in your pockets and an eye on the future.
I hope this isn’t directed at me… I wasn’t a huge fan of Miles as a person from the very start (on the old board draft night thread I questioned his personality on his tweet in college where he mentioned blowing up his school). So I definitely do not accept bad/criminal behavior nor am I saying we should overlook his horrible off the court stuff. I’m all for a sign and trade just to get some value out of it for the team but I’m certain we’ll be backed into a corner there.
My only point is that is that Charlotte and some of the smaller area franchises don’t generally get any leeway with players off the court transgressions (morally I’m not saying we or anyone else should). We see so many times troubled players in bigger markets the focus ends up not being about the off the court issues but if he signs here the spotlight will constantly be there. This just feels like a situation where we’re going to be forced to let what should have been a valuable team asset go for nothing in return… where he’ll possibly have a “redemption” story elsewhere.
Just want to clear that up. I won’t be responding to this thread anymore since its such a sensitive topic.
This has happened in other places he has been as well.
I like Terry for Lonzo + 1st, and Gordon + Miles for Westbrook + 2 1sts. This would give us a good bargaining chip to move up in the lottery, in case we don’t hit the jackpot.
I would do Hayward and Plumlee for Westbrook straight up . I don’t think they add in a first. I would all so do Terry for Lonzo straight up if Lonzo could pass a physical. Bridges I would do for a decent contract and a first. Basicly I would see what the best offer for Bridges would be. Sign him and trade him for the first.
Ironically, Plumlee probably is the most “tradeable” player mentioned in the above posts. This is because of his contract. I could absolutely see an injury plagued contender trading for Plumlee to help provide minutes to the frontcourt.
Gordon Hayward has zero trade value. Guys, he’s always injured and doesn’t play. And is still up for another 30 million dollar year. Guys, cmon.
Miles: I don’t think the the felony domestic abuser is a hot item on the trade market. Miles will be struggling to even play in the league this year due to impending suspension.
Terry: This is a tough contract to trade. No one is forking over assets to acquire this contract.
Im seriously going crazy waiting for the hornets to announce what they are doing with him
Cat welcome to hornets planet
I mean, Duncan Robinson has three more years left on his contract, Davis Bertans has two more years left on his deal, as does Lonzo. They’ll have to eat some bad money in addition, but I could see Miami wanting to get off of Robinson’s deal while getting a better player back if it only cost them a protected first. Even if it just turned into multiple seconds at some point if it didn’t transfer, it might be worth it.
Lost my old account — I’ve been on bobcats and hornets plant for a long time
good to see all the old names are still here though
Good to have you back . Have fun and let us know your thoughts.
What Miles did was seriously wrong but as of now I don’t find it an irredeemable act. If he takes the classes he is supposed to take and he follows all the rules of his probation than I am fine with him being a member of the Charlotte Hornets. We shall soon know one way or another the course of Miles future. If it turns out Miles will remain a Hornet than I am fine with that outcome. I really don’t see Miles laying hands on a child or a woman any longer. If he does he will face the jail time he avoided this go round and lose any chance he has of ever playing in the NBA again. The threat of any future punishments should be enough to set Miles straight. Those of you saying Miles needs to show he has remorse and regrets his past actions need to realize that as fans we have litte to no chance at contacting Miles, or getting to know him as a person. The people responsible for Miles probation and other punishments are the people who can judge Miles accordingly. As of now Miles has to act right and do right in regards to the punishments handed down to him. I predict Miles avoids any more violence of any kind toward anyone. At least outside of some crazy person leaving Miles with no choice other than to defend hmself. I am all about redemption and I think Miles can go a long way toward proving himself by being active in the community and following the judges orders in regards to his probation.
I’m all about second chances so if the organization sees fit lets do it. He will probably be suspended by the league for 20 games or so so that is more punishment on top of what he already has. Sign him for a cheap 3 yr deal with team option for the last year to resign him to a longer deal if it seems fit.
