MJ selling team 2023?

Was going to mention Realgm. Been lurking both here and their for a decade or so. Interesting to see the differing sentiment in each group.

There’s one guy in particular that, if you espouse Scoot, he’ll tear you down immediately. Everytime. It’s exhausting.

It’s curious indeed. I like Miller, but it isn’t that serious.

Agreed and respect.

I’m on both under two different aliases. Incognito like that

I do want to acknowledge that for all the gruff he took, MJ turned $300m into $3b in a decade.

He has to be the most successful athlete investor ever.

I would still like to know how much he cleared in the sale

Absolutely. MJ saved us from Bob Johnson, returned the Hornets namesake if we are being fair.

Welcome back Buckets. And I agree with you. Welcome

Might want to balance that out w his greatest hits for another article.

Don’t believe this is the same Buckets that came to us via the Kaminsky draft.

Thanks Eastely

Oh, so not Wisconsin Buckets? I guess he ran off in the sunset in Milwaukee Bucks bliss and forgot about us little people.

Accurate. I have been lurking much longer than Kaminsky (hornets fan since ā€˜94 - though I went to games earlier but wasn’t old enough to get into it… just remember how loud it was and the banners of #1 home attendance records in the NBA every year. Appreciate the clarification of apparent confusion. Zo, LJ, Muggsy, Dell is fav team, BD and Mash should have beaten Ray Allen, Glen Robinson and Smeagles in the 2nd round of ā€˜01… absolute shit finish. I constantly refreshed the page on ESPN for Okafor in ā€˜04 every single game via ESPN Gamecast bc Bob Johnson famously wouldn’t let the Bobcats be broadcast on cable and wanted his own network. Crash was the 2nd best small forward behind Lebron and ahead of Caron Butler in ā€˜09. Love Kemba, should’ve traded MKG pick for Harden as published as rumor in HoopsHype in ā€˜12. Rich Cho was a nightmare. We were semi-competent at recruiting free agents in mid 2010s with Gordon, Lance (I know, but was a name up and coming at the time), and Big Al. Wanted to run with Lin Courtney and Kemba. Still mad about not picking Mitchell. Last years Duren pick/trade made no sense. We are in a great spot if we leverage what we have in front of us, irrespective of our ghosts of Xmas past. We all share the same battle scars. Now that we know each other let us move forward.

Also, my dad and I stood in a line when I was 7 to get a Muggsy autograph at what I believe was a Wal-Mart. I was too nervous to ask but my dad asked for me who his favorite player was and he signed a hat for me and told us his fave growing up was Dr. J

He ended up doing some stats work for an NBA interest and only would briefly return during the off season for a year or two. Hope he’s doing well.

It’s good for the league and the prestige of the Hornets to keep Jordan involved as a majority minority owner at 49%. I think this is the best possible result and things broke our way yet again this off season.

Yeah, Pete fills in some of the behind the scenes stuff people forgot about. There’s a ton of community charity work and programs he supported and funded too.

I was at that game 6. Refs screwed us so bad that game, guess the league didn’t want a lame duck franchised going far.

RealGM does have some really sharp posters. I don’t post there, but I do check periodically. I remember that one guy who was always making great Hornets videos, something to do with Lamar Odom. Lamarmatic? Don’t know where he went.

But theres always a number of other posters over there take everything so personally, always bickering about things that don’t matter, it does get exhausting.

Here I feel like more people are self aware and are so self deprecating, any insults are accepted and acknowledged, like ā€œyeah, I am an idiot for thinking Thomas Robinson was worth a 2 pick and would lead us with Kemba into the promised land.ā€
