I’m glad we outperformed our slot and we obviously have the chance to get a great player at #2, but I’m not gonna lie, it hurts to have been that close.

I agree. I think we’re all ecstatic to get the 2nd pick. It absolutely makes the season of suffering worth it in my eyes. But it does take a moment to get over the shock of being that close to having the best “prospect” EVER and just missing out.

I’m definitely stoked! Scoot has to be the pick though. Anyone else, I’ll be disappointed. He’s an alpha dog… something the Hornets need. I also think he has less risk than Wemby. Of course, I’d rather have Wemby, but I’d also be really worried. Scoot could very welll end up being the best player in this draft and he’s ours for the taking…

Would you guys draft Scoot trade Melo on draft night with the Magic for the sixth and 11th and a filler. Then draft Whitmore at six and Dick at 11th
Probably not. Really need to consolidate talent rather than disperse it.

Interesting idea but both Whitmore and Dick will need a year or two (or 3) of seasoning. So I’d stick with LaMelo. If I’m trading him it’s for an all-star or potential all-star.

Yeah man, the Hornets have never been able to pair 2 foundational players together, since Zo and LJ.
It’s hard enough to get just one, we got it. Now we finally have a chance at 2? You keep that all day every day, and build around them.

In the 2012-13 season we had Josh mcroberts and Byron Mullens together as foundational pieces and it somehow didn’t quite work out. What a shame.

First time posting but, just overall happy to have the second pick. I was expecting the seventh or fourth. It definitely would be great if we had the first but, silver ain’t bad.
